I think everyone had a chance to talk about gay marriage. I kinda like thread derailment as long as everyone else is ok with it. lots of good points in this thread made by all.

To be honest,....I think a lot of the laws that legislate marijuana, abortion, reproductive rights, access to health care, marriage rights is really nothing more than weapons in the class war.

Keep the working class divided and subjugated so the bourgeois can cling to power. We outnumber them so social control is the only to keep us from revolting. I do hope these attitudes are changed through peaceful means and I'm optimistic as I see attitudes changing and people waking up.

I was gonna say no but then I thought about it, you are %100 right. although I dont immediately see how banning gay marriage is really a rich vs poor issue. although you could argue that homosexuality is as detrimental to population growth as abortion. every pro war president has been anti-abortion. even the presidents who campaigned on pro-choice pass anti abortion legislation. keeping your disposable troops reproducing like rabbits has always been a tool to increase poverty and therefor recruitment. if all the people in america below the poverty line got abortions, it would seriously affect the united states military. a lot of troops come from land locked towns with extremely high unemployment rates and low average education. population decrease almost always leads to an economic bounce back as resources and jobs become more available and retirement decreases. its actually pretty similar to any major empire in history while in its incline phase. the younger healthy working age population must outnumber the old sick non-working population for a nation or empire to reach peak productivity and efficiency. if you study the impact of modern medicine, it increases productivity to a point until it turns around and decreases productivity.


this book is over well over 1000 pages and weighs more than my guitar. I own it but havent finished it. you have to read every page twice. its heavy shit that took him his whole life to research.

Not just access to abortions but access to birth control and sex education.

As I pointed out before,....Same Sex Marriage is used as a wedge issue because people are highly emotional and opinionated on the subject; a subject that has little actual impact on daily life (aside from those homosexuals that want to get married). While we are against one another our attention deflected away from actual issues. Aside from rape and murder,....trying to legislate morality is a lost cause in terms of actual law. It's great on the campaign trail.

I wanna know when we are going to start holding the banks and the crooked investor on wall street accountable for the economic mess they've created and continue to perpetrate (RE: HAMP Modification Scam). The answer is never and I'm not happy about. These people need to be punished for redistributing wealth, stealing homes from people and orchestrating a financial collapse that has the national unemployment rate hovering around 10% (not including the people who have given up looking for work and given up trying to unemployment insurance). They need to be knocked off their golden pedestals and thrown in a cell and treated worse then pedos.

I wanna know what's going to happen when China wants their money back?

I wanna know when the US is going to stop meddling with affairs in the Middle East and start holding Israel accountable for it's atrocities (I will admit that I'm not especially schooled on this subject, but terrorism and fundamentalism has only seemed to come into being and be a threat only after the founding of Israel. Hmmmm,....perhaps more fear mongering,....oh please politicians protect us from our nightmares,....you all did such a wonderful job defeating Communism).

intrest bearing notes are loans within themselves. you are actually a victim of predatory lending if you have a dollar in your pocket. gold isn't going up... every interest bearing note is going down relative to gold. but in the united states, gold currency is outlawed even though its one of our rights in the united states constitution. everyone just wants to have more than the next guy. thats a natural human emotion that is necessary for survival. but the problem is that by everyone chasing the dollar, they loose the game even when they win. the only real winners are the bankers who dont have to work and yet they have successfully enslaved the earth and amassed the largest armies to protect the criminal empire. corporate influence is a product of human greed and weakness. you cant kill weakness. it will always exist in the hearts of men. whenever you make a decision to accept interest bearing notes as payment, you are being taxed as well as you are taxing the next man by passing an interest bearing note. tax = part time slavery. its just not the chains and shackles you think of.

So a group of people having the right to get married isn't a real issue? That's basically saying "This doesn't affect me directly, so it doesn't matter." It does directly affect millions of people, should they decide they want to get married. The gay population is larger than most individual states. It's like saying "Oh, hey, Wyoming... you guys can't get married."

I'm not calling it a bigger issue than holding bankers accountable for what they've done-- in fact, I'd probably want to see that happen first. But since it's probably not going to happen, I'm still going to get excited when a state decides gay people are equal to straight people.

But, yeah, I'd love to see "green" (hate that word) technologies get the funding that oil companies get now, and for the United States to stay the hell out of the middle east except for -actual- humanitarian missions (which never happens). And fuck Israel. And fuck Wall St. And fuck Wal-Mart, too. And the supreme court. 1.5 million women, and Walmart doesn't even get a slap on the wrist? Bullshit. "Merely showing that Walmart's policy of discretion has produced an overall sexbased disparity does not suffice."... the shit does that even mean? It means that no amount of evidence would suffice, that's what.

Well I didn't mean to say it doesn't matter. It is an issue that they can't marry and people will make it an issue if they are given the right to marry. What I'm trying to say is that ideally this shouldn't be an issue at all. The only reason it is is because people are too easily offended.

It doesn't matter to me because I don't care what people do in their bedroom or who they wanna marry and the people who are offended by what people do in the bedroom or who they wanna marry should worry about the stank on their own ass.

I wish people would put the same amount of energy they put into being offend by homosexuality; into all the atrocities that actually have an impact on our society as a whole.

As you pointed out there is no real legal reason to prevent same sex marriage; so it stands to reason that homosexuals are denied their rights because everybody's offended. Find something that is actually offensive to be offended by,....or here is thought,....be offended by nothing. Grow a thick skin,....worry about the stank on your own ass.
