ILF is cool,...but the novelty has started to wear off.
Coming from the heavily moderated church that is Talkbass to a relatively uncensored forum like this was refreshing,...but I'm realizing that there aren't really that many differences. People still get pissy with each other,...people still form friendships and bromances,...cliques of sheeple form around people who are witty or scathing, or who have similar opinions on gear (this is the element of discussion forums I despise the most,...the whole shepherd/sheeple thing). People still think "their" forum is going to hell in handbasket when a flurry of noobs join up. It's an eb and flow.
The one thing that I do notice with this forum over bigger ones is that by and large people really are into it for the music. Other gear talk forums,...most people just want to ream each other over the gear they use but there isn't a great deal of example of said gear in context outside the bedroom. I don't have a problem with that but for me personally; not using my gear is a waste of money.
I definitely do favor this place to other forums. I feel like I fit in here better than I do at other places even if the whole on thing went over my head.
And to HTS,...I like you too buddy. Thanks for the well wishes after my little procedure. That was really welcoming.
