My first purchased guitar was a Vox Bobcat, not unlike a 335 in layout, a bit thicker and more Italian as I recall. I've currently got a Mosrite Celebrity on the side, but haven't been using it as much due to a change in tastes. May get back to it. It's awful thick for a semi. Blood red. Great shape except some chucklehead put new heads on and screwed up the finish on the headstock. Pics if I can find 'em.

I love the semi-hollows, LOVE!

I've owned a 335 and 339, sold those fuckers for this Maton BB1200. One of the best guitars I've laid hands on. The coil tapped buckers are the shit, going from super mean to fender(ish) twang. :!!!:

It's definitely a play before you buy guitar, like all other Epiphones, but I dig mine.
I got mine stock for $225 with case from a pawn shop and put about $80 into new pickups.

cool guit! Matons always remind me of Josh Homme, and Homme reminds me of my dream semi-hollow.

I called the guy when I woke up and left a message. Had just enough time to check ILF before he called me back. Said his name was Charlie and that he had an amp shop, to come down and check out the guitar. I was excited to see what amps he had for sale. Kind of hard to find the shop, cause it was in the back of some office buildings, with not even a sign...luckily the guy was standing by the back door with his puppy dog. We (roommate and I) go in, and its an amp repair and build shop. I see a couple Revolver amps sitting around on various cabs & several Fenders, Gibsons, etc in the middle of repair. Charlie plugged the xaviere into a Cowboys themed Revolver that I was seriously stoked to play...cowboys themed revolver COME ON.

Anyways, I didn't really dig into, as that's not my thing, but the amp sounded fantastic as did the guitar. The tremolo in it was from the fender brownface, and sounded stellar. I decided to get the guitar, then we bullshitted for about a half hour. Got tips on speakers, pre planned some work I'm going to have done on my silvertones and univox, all sorts of good stuff. So, my first impression of Charles Prest of Revolver Amps is, he's a pretty cool f'in dude. Good ol' cowboy rockers.

When I got home I plugged her into my U1221 and 2x12, with just enough verb and trem to get real bluesy + the ptp LPB2... :animal: :yay:
