Wired: you need to break the nitro by making it check everywhere for the real tone to happen.
 people are funny..”Tonewood don’t mater it’s the finish! In fact the thinner it is the more it matters, the best sound is raw wood!”

the boomlet in Kalamazoo-style wee acoustics is only gaining strength. off the top of my head Collings and Eastman are selling them @ $2000 for the Eastman and a cool $4k as one might expect for a Collings. and there are many more examples i can’t remember. every time i play my $400 Oriole i’m going to laugh heartily.

here’s a peculiar neither fish nor fowl/beast of no nation item i spotted in a Guitar Center ad on Facebook, one of those used-item ads with the horizontal carousel you can scroll through. i love these and the similar ads from Sweetwater Used Gear and Reverb because they’re so random compared to looking at the eBay and Reverb apps.

it’s an Alvarez 5055 Bluesman, and does indeed appear to be an archtop with a fixed pin bridge. i haven’t a clue as to whether or how well this would work, but thought it was weird enough to show. it’s a little too expensive to buy as an experiment, but it made me think for about 20 seconds. if you really, really hate movable archtop bridges this could be your new best friend. i really would like to try it out, but i’m not driving to Atlanta. i’ll bet it’s hella loud for a smallish archtop.

It's a trap! It has that bridge 'cause it's a flattop.
