I don't know if the linking of tap jacks is a Wombtone 1.1 specific thing or not.

The tap jack is an input *or* output. You can sync any chase bliss pedal like that... In fact, really any pedal with an external tap Jack has the functionality.

My microprocessor is just looking for a momentary switch to ground.

The pedals won't stay perfectly synced forever, they will eventually drift slightly. If you need rock solid syncing for long periods of time you need to use something like the disaster area smartclock (which continues to send tap simulation presses to keep things in sync) or midi beat clock of course
