I'm plowing through Mona Lisa Overdrive now. Who said they gave up on Neuromancer?

I'll give you 50-50 on "fun to read" and "has to be here because it's important."

And, remember, one man's Faulkner is another man's cathoder.

Faulkner would want to be the cathoder...

Brilliant novel about the awkwardness of adolescence / growing up in an Irish Catholic boarding school...with some ridiculous sideplots ranging from string/m-theory to drugs/eating disorders and pedophilia.

Somewhat gloomy but equally hilarious...really enjoyed this one and I'm trying to get every teacher I know to read it.

Next up:

Just started this one-

It's rough going at the start, I guess I got too comfortable with the Bas-Lag universe (Embassytown is a completely new world).
Still, Mieville has yet to let me down (even Kraken which was brutal to get through, I grew to love).

Confessions of an economic hitman, by John Perkins
This book really makes you cynical about the world.
I mean fuck, I knew the corporate world was corrupt and all but shit.
It's a quick read, check if its available for loan on kindle and I'll loan it to whoever wants.

Side note: we should start a kindle book sharing thing on ilf,
