speech ISN'T protected on an internet forum. Not even here. Tom reserves the right to close threads and delete whatever posts he wants, and has done so in the past.
EDIT:: not trying to be argumentative here, I just think we all need to calm down a bit. I love it here, but Talkbass isn't the useless fucking sewer that seems to be the description in this thread. At least, not to me.

Yeah I have gotten some good info over there. Dude just seemed like a dick coming out like that. Yeah the judgment on closing the gnomeratron thread was questioned but its not like anyone was undermining his authority. All Im saying is that Im not going to pay for it not a big deal I cant sell shit there.

Free speech? TalkBass?
Man I've had so many innocuous posts deleted from there it's ridiculous. If you don't line up and suck whatever cock is being discussed at the time (brand, player, whatever) consider your post aced. But who cares? It's a god damn internet forum, one with incredibly stringent rules that they regularly remind you of.
I do find the swear filter gay as fuck though.

All right, so I just got back from the New England TB Get-together, and it was actually a really good time. Yeah, there were a lot of non-effects peeps there, but also a lot of reeeeeallly cool equipment, and people were totally open & nice about letting each other try the stuff out. I got to try one of those Rob Allen Mouse fretless basses, and it was the first time I ever went

over a bass that wasn't a Fender Jazz or a Ric.
And BigChiefBC brought beer, so that was extra-cool!

Just got back myself from the TB gtg. Jrmy, you left just a bit too early man! Right after you left, Bryan asked my to bring my pedalboard in, and even though 90% of the guys there were "non-fx" guys, I had at least 10 people try out my board afterwards. It was pretty cool.
Yeah, there were a lot of guys that were just there to look at $3000+ bass pr0n and nothing else, but most of the people were pretty open about it. Also, I ended up trying the MXR Bass Envelope Filter through my pedalboard, and goddamn do I need one of those. The first time an env filter ever really did what I've been looking for it to do (i.e. NOT FUNK)

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, it figures. I didn't get to try Bryan's crazy AxeFX rig either. Ah well. Next time I'll bring my board too, and we can set up a massive Wall O' FX corner to really mess with the Zon guys.
Oh, and that MXR Bass Envelope Filter was shockingly good. I have to say that I agree - it's totally worth getting. Some really awesome non-funk envelope sounds in that thing.

The MXR slays the QTron on bass hands down. I demoed one with my bass teacher a while back and I was shocked on how responsive it was and how you can dial everything you want on that.
I love that pedal, that and the carbon copy are good good shit on bass.
