Yeah definitely. I have one on the way, I'm pretty excited for the modulation. I love the way the square wave sounds.

Diggin your board BCBC!!!.
I yoinked the BLOWING UP off my board and replaced it with a Mont ASs C.A. Ring Mod. For a few sets Mecha Shiva is doing an electronica/noise set so I'm back to having a board on a KB stand for knob twitz. I'll get a pic of it tomorrow as it's at the rehearsal. I need to DIY an "exp knob" to control the LFO Sweep on my MuRF. Trying to save space by getting the treadle pedal off mah board.

The blank enclosure in the middle is going to be a bypass looper for my XP-1000 when I get off my lazy butt and put it together. All I'm missing is a Behringer BSY-600 that will go on the far right side. The BSY I already own is on my other board, so for 40 bucks, I'll just get a second one. The exp pedal is for the dlx memory boy. The Sonuus is sending midi out to a Microkorg. Then I just have to wire it all up.

How is the Sonuus treating you? How fast is it?

It depends what you mean. If you're asking about latency, then I would say it is very fast, i.e. there is almost no latency, even down at low B. But if you're asking whether it can track fast passages, then I'd say no. When you play a fast run, it WILL glitch out. I use it mostly for pads and slower parts. It works if you play very cleanly, make sure you mute every string, and play with the bass's eq a bit. But it's really the only thing that does what it does without going for the Roland GK system, which means 7 or 800 hundred bucks and mounting a pickup on your bass. So for now, it's staying, because it's the only way to trigger our Nord, Virus and Microkorg with my bass.

I have a roland pickup [got it cheap] just not the unit

but when I tested it at a store with the current floor unit they make I thought the tracking was shit and slow. and the thing that worries me about the Sonus is you get such hot...

And cold opinions...
And the optimum thing is where you can layer your bass with the synth you are using... that is what stops me from gassing for a Z-bass. I have thought about going the piccolo bass rout but that doesn't really help either... it is hard to believe that we can send a robot to mars and yet will still can't get a true midi bass. And I find it funny that all the tech and $$$ goes into midi guitars when in terms of usefulness in actual musical performance a midi bass you would think would be in higher demand......

I don't think I've ever done a board shot before. Here goes:

Got it all organized, and I feel pretty comfortable with the sounds I'm getting out of this thing. The only thing I'm going to be adding pretty soon (again) is the Malekko Tremolo.
