If you want to talk about overplaying something, how about Arya's story? Holy shit, we get it! Trials are hard. A girl, a man, fuck, even a braindead horse knows by now. It might have worked better in the books, but it doesn't work well in TV format. WE FUCKING GET IT, MOVE ON!

It's somehow slower-paced and less in-your-face in the books if I recall correctly. Many things are different in the books but so far the writers of the series have done a great job of conveying what they consider to be the most important points of each subplot considering the constraints of a TV series compared to a book. For example, in the books the kingsmoot for the ironborns is something that takes quite some time to take place because it's not an usual thing, the king's brother reappearance is handled in a very different way, etc. but there is no way they could properly explain all of the stuff that's explained in the books about that without dedicating the entire series to this subplot...
Beyond that, they obviously spend a bit more time on the characters that viewers like the most, and Arya Stark is obviously one of them

. There's still a whole another subplot from the books that hasn't been used once in the TV series, but I'm not sure if it will end up in there or not.

Holy fuck they're still doing the Kingsmoot in the Iron Isles. After not seeing them at all last season I just assumed they cut it out of the TV Show altogether.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. But nope, it's just been delayed one season

.

Ramsay's wearing plot armor three feet thick at this point. Bah. Lots of reddit speculation that the "gift" the Umbers are going to deliver to Ramsay in the next episode is Rickon Stark. If that happens I will be... angry.
At least the ironborn are back, Asha/Yara is one of my favorites. She already delivered her pinecone line, though, which is the best part of the Kingsmoot.
After season five I am mostly still in the show bc I spent dozens of hours watching and rewatching eps. with friends, but I am mostly just wishing book 6 had dropped instead of season 6.
Next episode is titled Oathbreaker. Lady Stoneheart plz get hype?

Thorne went out like a boss.
Dany's current predicament is pure filler, but the Dothraki hipsters discussing what is best in life was pretty good. Equal parts conan, monty python, and high fidelity.
Really want Osha to fuck Ramsay up hardcore. Then Rickon (Reekon?) could become warden of the north.
Can't wait for Drogon to return, bigger than a fucking aircraft carrier...

Probably the part where George R.R. Martin has literally gone on the record saying that Danaerys is not immune to fire, and her surviving Khal Drogo's funeral pyre was a one time magical event. Whoops.

Well George has been whining for 10 years that he didn't know how to untie his "Meerenese knot", well D & D just untied it for him. Boom.

I'm a whiny baby, but color me unimpressed with D & D's job. Dany is just immune to fire and everything falls in her lap bc she's the unabashed good guy. Yawn.
