Eh... But! as I said "I" already did that.. and my second one had no FX... so I sent something with 8 tracks that were all recorded without listening to the other tracks

If it doesn't fly so be it, that's fine. Actually when I think about it... I'd like to see what would happen with the same type of thing over here... might really be sick.

Oh yeah I'm going to get around the rule by playing two basses at the same time, but record with only one mic. Possibly two amps even.

So I guess I only like the rule enough to give myself a challenge to circumvent it.

My entry in the first compilation was also a single track in one take, so yeah, been there, done that. But that is pretty much the way I do my recordings anyway. Even my electronic shit, if I can't record and mix it in a single take, then it seems like cheating to me. Even if we have 15 synth lines going at once, I want to be at the faders mixing it live while we're recording. It seems more like a performance that way. (and I still think it ends up in better mixes too)

That said, this was a fun challenge for me, since I'd much rather be all fakey fakey and multitrack my little heart out. But I'm pretty psyched with what I worked up. I'm actually going to use it for the next Crotchthrottle release. Of course, I'll multitrack the hell out of it for that...

I think an ILF noise comp would be TOTALLY FANTABULOUS. We'd just need someone like Mr. Pickles to do the final track levels & mastering stuffs. Oh, and to herd the proverbial cats and get everyone's submissions in on time.
