That is industrial as fuck! I love it!
What did you use to cut the steel?

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Thanks, I love the industrial look of it too! I started with a piece of 3/16 inch steel sheet metal (not stainless mind you, this thing's gonna rust
). I'm not exactly sure on the thickness, it's probably exaggerated a bit, I salvaged it from the recycle bin at the local metal workshop, and it certainly felt pretty hefty while I was working on it
I cut the outside using a jigsaw. Then drilled holes big enough to get the jigsaw through and routed the bridge and both pickups. This was so goddamned tricky. Those weird little bumps on the jazzmaster pickup were so hard to cut using the jigsaw...
Because it was pretty bent out of shape at this point, I hammered it back into shape on the anvil. Then I drilled the rest of the holes and tried to bevel the edges a bit using a bench grinder. Then polished it up with a brush attachment for the grinder (that's how it got that weird directional look).

That must been a hell of a jigsaw you used!
It's really nice work, man. Makes me want to make one, too!

Thanks! I certainly felt badass making it.kosta wrote:Badass, my man.
The jigsaw worked really well for the outside. I could've used a plasma cutter, but they're way hard to use by hand, and it would've been super overkill (like trying to use a samurai sword to open letter). I just wish I would've had a rasp/grinder bit for my drill to finalize the pickup and bridge routes.

Over the years, I've come to realize that you and I share the exact same taste in gear.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Thanks! Indeed it is brand new. Ordered that shit online sight unseen because I could no longer resist it. It's actually a Schecter, and a mid priced one at that! Looks and plays like something much nicer.Holy Schnikes wrote:OMFG dude, that is BEAUTIFUL! Brand new? And yes, we have extremely similar taste in gear. We'd totally be bros IRL if my wife made me move to the midwest
Totally a Schecter. I hope this guitar will help bring down the awful xcorex rep that Schecter has developed in recent yearssylnau wrote: OMG!! So beautiful!
