If you take a look at pedal guts like this one it's no big wonder that something doesn't work properly. Even I can do better solder jobs.

Yea, the mind warp I just got back has some problems. The soldering is actually ok though. Fried opamp as far as I can tell.

Actually traded it and took it back because it was defective after shipment? Yea...

Those shots of the Kassette are not good...

Mind warp is fairly clean inside, but yea...

I like the aesthetic of Seppuku, and some of the sounds are awesome, but QC issues like this really put me off. I don't know that I could ever buy one of these. Oh well, there's no shortage of weird shit out there.

I should also note that while my KK doesnt look PAF inside, its not as bad as the gutshot above. Mine is one of the newer ones. Im not into a lot of Rhys pedals but the KK is super fun.

dunno, between the guts and some of your guys' stories, my gas has been extinguished. I was actually about to checkout with a pedal at one point till I realized there was no currency exchange. definitely some cool sounds, but I can't help but look at seppuku as some hella 'obscure' hipster shit (no offense) :idk: more for you guys I guess :D

that pll clone sound amazeballs, tho

I honestly go back and forth. Sometimes I feel like the pedals are amazingly deep and fun then I get mad looking at them sometimes. The DPM-2 was a great, solid pedal but I am more than happy with the trade I made that sent it away. The KK is neat, but I'm always torn whether or not I will actually ever use it but every time I bust it out I have a blast for a while. Memory Loss is an atmophere machine and I like it a lot.

I am really glad to have tried them and played them but sometimes I question why I went after them. It's not so much regret, it's just that I think I would rather have a good phaser or something. They are really unique pedals and I respect Rhys/Seppuku for that and I will probably keep some of them. But after the last week I have had second thoughts about just gear hoarding in general (and seppuku)...so who knows? :idk:

They are fun to try and mess around with, but I think I am finding my "style" on guitar more and maybe moving on from some of my old ideas.

Between the IC Water, KK, and Memory Loss I think my Seppuku GAS is extinguished. The massive wait times and constant horror stories are just way too much for me. Definitely not worth the price. The IC Water was the last thing from Seppuku I really wanted, so unless he super blows my mind in the future I'll be happy to steer clear of him from now on.

That KK is mine btw. I'm pretty reckless with my pedals but the soldering holds up. Guts look like shit though.

I ain't hatin', just glad I got to try them.

How is the DLFO treating you UC? I kinda got it figured out, but it just don't have the range of the mind warp.

I've been on vacation for the last few days so I haven't played with it much since the last time. I feel you on the range aspect of it though. I was thinking of doing an A/B demo of them. I was going to sell my MW to jwar, but they do feel pretty different and I'm not sure which I like more yet. Sorry, jwar! The waiting game continues!
