Damn, I need to get back to drawing. I haven't done any artwork since starting my current job.

I want to be able to draw. I'm at stick figure-level...
Are there any books or something, you know, some kind of progression guideline that you guys have used?

One of the best things you can do, is try to duplicate album / book / movie covers. That is how a lot of artists - outside of fine art - get started. Aside from that, drawing is like anything else. Put the hours in and you'll get better.

exactly that. Look at stuff you like, take it apart mentally and see how you'd try and replicate it. Then start looking at a wider variety of stuff so you're not just biting some dude's style and you'll eventually come in to your own.

I've like, ALWAYS sucked at art, in highschool my teachers hated me and told other kids 'hey at least you're not as bad as him...' but like, four years ago I was really frustrated by an inability with it so I was like 'screw this, I'm gonna learn to draw'. Just resign yourself to looking like that jerk who's always carrying around a sketchbook, and well...be that jerk always carrying around a sketchbook and every spare second you get, draw in it.

Hmm... I'm doing a bit of a photo series for fun. I'll likely be adding more characters and such over time.

Probably the luckiest shot I've taken. No editing, straight from my camera.
