Well, I'm glad you did. I've listened to that video a dozen times already.

I have never ever heard a ring mod that I like but I'll be damned if I don't really want a vitruvian

The faux bass is surprisingly good. When we started working on this pedal we really weren't sure exactly what the results would be. looking at a bunch of frequency ratios on a spread sheet were one thing. We were only sure it would be "interesting."

I like the idea that we can make effects and other people will find ways to use them that we'd not thought of. I think this is one of those pedals.

Brian, just curious, I may've missed it, did you say if it's a true ring mod or a balanced modulator or something?

It's not a true ring modulator. Much of it is digital. The pitch tracking would be impossible in a pedal this size. A real ring modulator circuit works better at a higher voltage with a lot of signal gain to make the crossover distortion less noticeable. Most "ring mods" are balanced modulators (at least for effects) but everyone just calls them ring mods anyway. I think only the amateur radio guys really get worried about the distinction.

Gotcha, thanks, I was only asking because the Vitruvian Mod seems much more manageable than most ring mods.

That video sold me purely because of the riffs used. I love me some 80s tunes.

...and also because I'm in the market for a ring modulator...
