Maybe it's just leftover snakebitten shit from last year's cup finals, but I find it hard to believe that the Rangers could take down the Hawks. But I think they'd take the Kings.

Western Conference has historically been the stronger conference; at least since the 04/05 lockout.

I think the Rags only chance is if Hank stands on his head all series long.

Two Original Six Teams though; that's kinda cool.

EDIT: Oh wait. I thought the Blackhawks had already advanced.

Well, the Oilers finally fired someone. Not sure if Eakins was the right guy though. Maybe, maybe not.

For a lifelong Oilers fan, its been a pretty miserable year...make that decade. :(

I'm not quite ready to discuss hockey. The Bruins have so thoroughly pissed me off over the last couple years, it would just be a long string of expletives.

i would just like to say that the blackhawks 8 game streak being snapped by the islanders definitely upset me. however, what upsets me more is that i have yet to attend a game this season and must do so soon or i fear that i'll fall into a great bout of depression.

the fact that they won the next day and tacked on another w last night is a good sign. darling was reassigned after the game so crow might be back.

I've been a Hawks fan since... well, before birth.

Let's not forget, The Streak (21-0-3) was ended by the Avs (9-10-4). I'm wasn't upset at all that 19-10-0 Islanders beat the Hawks... once. It's kind of cute how one of their top D-men was only good enough to be part of the third defensive pair for the Hawks. Yeah yeah, Boychuk and Hamonic are hurt.

Last night's win was good, considering Keith was out and the slow-skating Rundblad took his place. What happened to Clendening? I thought he looked pretty good earlier this year, and would have picked him over Rundblad. Oh, and Suter's elbow that sent Versteeg into the crossbar was vicious, and should have been a penalty.

What do you guys think of Raanta? I'm indifferent, but my wife doesn't like him because she thinks he is too aggressive, and challenges too often. He does seem to be out of position and/or flopping around quite a bit lately. Darling looks good, but so did Raanta when he was fresh in the league.

Oh, and blindrabbit, I feel for you. The Oilers suck, and are hard to watch. I keep watching only because I paid for Center Ice. I like to watch their home games because I like watching the line changes take place towards the camera, and I find the lighting in their stadium to make for a really nice TV viewing experience. Among the Canadian teams, I root for Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Toronto.

Leafs fan here.

It's been a tough few decades here.. lean and tough.. there's got to be a light at the end of the tunnel eventually!

Also - Congrats to the CDN juniors, who medalled for the first time since 2011. bout time guys.

The Bruins are absolutely screwed because:

1. Chara has slowed down too much, he's no longer dominant
2. Lucic never developed into the 1st-line winger we all thought he would be
3. They have no real offensive talent other than Krejci and Bergeron
4. They traded away the only really skilled winger they had
5. They have no cap space, so even if they wanted to add a top 6 winger, they'd have to unload one of their top 4 players (Chara, Krejci, Bergeron or Rask) to fit that guy under the cap.
6. They don't have the balls to blow it up and bottom out, SOOOOOOOO
7. They're going to be a mediocre 6-8 seed for the next 5 years.

After joining a forum, i always look for the offtopic threads, just to find out what members do like besides the general topics.
This thread was a real disappointment, when i think Hockey:
