I just realized that kids shows have started naming the shows after the main character, because kids don't remember the show name.
Blue's Clue, Dora, Spongebob, etc as opposed to The Wild Thornberrys or AH! Real Monsters or whatever.

Kids shows have been named after the main character(s) forever.
Batman, Thom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Garfield and Friends, Howdy Doody, The Incredible Hulk, Popeye, Scooby-Doo....I'll stop now.

And what do you mean, started? Dora has been around since 2000, Spongebob was '99, and Blue's Clues was '96. 12+ years ago, man.
Edit: Plus Blue's Clues is older than Thornberrys. That stuff was '98.
