Yeah, it's about the gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk. Sean Penn plays Harvey Milk. It's really good. Made in 2008.

OH YEAH! I remember now. Never did see it but my mom (a lesbian lady) said it was great.

Sean Penn was typically awesome. His romantic scenes with James Franco were extremely...real, for lack of a better word. Pretty sad story at the same time, though. I didn't know the story of Harvey Milk before watching the film, and despite its positive and up-building message, it was a little depressing.

I did know (lol, lesbian mom) and that's the main reason I stayed away from the movie. I don't like depressing movies. The Wall fuckin kills me.

i havent seen Milk, but didn't think it was a depressing film...now i will have to watch it. nothing gets me like a good depressing film, but i do always feel the need to watch some stand up comedy afterwards...just to balance things off. I think a good depressing movie is probably one of the hardest films to make, the story, script the acting; everything has to be so good to draw you in and get you emotionally hooked so you feel the way you do by the end of the film...

i.. don't drink milk...

A BIG heads up for all of you guys, and keep in mind that i don't really like OD/Distortion pedals much.

So, the other day i got a heads up for a Behringer VT911 Vintage Tube Overdrive. 20€ shipped i figured i might try it out, looked like a decent pedal to have at hand, especially at that price, and if i didn't like the tone i could always swap valves for a different dirt character.

But man, this thing sounds fucking amazing. I wrote an entire song just using it with amp reverb, an entire fucking song... and wow... I'm really really floored by this thing. Just hits home. Definitely get a Behringer Vintage Tube Monster when i find a used one, and maybe another one of these if i find another one cheap.

I recommend this one a lot. And for around 20 bucks you really can't lose. To me, it sounds amazing, without taking price into account at all.

i want all the big box series now, i've wanted one of those delays for a couple months, but now that i'm moving out of the country i just can't do any stupid investments on something like that.

i'm wondering if this badmotherfucker is a copy of an Ibanez Tube King with a way more grainier, vintage, dirty voicing. doesn't matter. it sounds amazing to my ears. glad i got it.

I know that I should have at least tried out the little mini hot rod while I was there but I could not for the life of me get away from that Avenger. It was just pure awesome. Also, tell Russ I still want his guitar.

Milk fucking rules! My wife is forever giving my grief because my 2yo and I smash litres of the shit, and it just jumped in price, but its too good!
Also, Requiem For a Dream, most Depressing movie ever. EVER.
Grave of the Fireflies very close second.
And when I'm ready to do this 15" cab thing, I'm starting to lean towards just going the 2x15. It just seems fucking easier.

And Conan fucking rule!

I picked up Tony's current Sunn concert bass for < $200 :thumb:

Jammed with new drummer again tonight. He'd learned a few of the songs from recordings I gave him and picked up a couple more over the course of the evening. Left his gear at my place which says to me....

I OWN YOU NOW!!! YOU PLAY DRUMS AND LIKE IT!!!!!
MWOOOhahahahahahahahahahaha.

I think we'll be gig ready in a couple weeks but I'm gonna call it a month to be on the safe side.
Dudes good. makes me feel like I need to step up my game.

We found another peavey classic 400 at guitar center. I think the DOOM gods are speaking to us. I got to play through it and it does sound really fucking good. Might try to work up some trade stuff.

I just got a early 70's non-master volume Ampeg V4 from Guitar Center's used section. I am curious, Is it normal for them to begin to break up with the volume around 10 o'clock? I had a V2 years ago and seem to remember it breaking up later.

It has Philips 7027s in it so I am not sure if they are the originals tubes the amp came with. I am guessing not, since most of the preamp tubes have been replaced with JJs. Who knows though. I might have it converted for 6550s anyway.

Also, the reverb does not work at all. I doubt I would use it anyway. Hopefully I can use it as a bargaining tool to get some money back (doubtful). Either way I am excited about this amp! Now I just need more cabs and a ABY pedal so I can run a dual amp rig.
