I also just lost a lot of interest when I heard that Arturia are calling Mutable Instruments partners since they included the Plaits code, but in reality Emilie had zero input and was never contacted by Arturia

Also, that Fender Tenor looks amazing! I literally just said the other day that I wished there were more options out there other than the Eastwood versions. And this one is cheaper as well! Now I hope they do a mandocello version

I agree, I have tried a few different Eastwood versions and each time I was left feeling like they were not worth the price. Now you can cop those Warren Ellis vibes on a budget!

That 12 string looks awesome too. I don't even know how much I would use it, but I definitely want one.

Mark my words, this will end up being the coolest and most interesting thing out of this NAMM when it hits the streets in a few months:

So has Emilie publicly voiced frustrations over this?
We’ve also teamed up with Eurorack synth heroes Mutable Instruments to bring you 7 modes from their legendary Plaits module.
If they're calling her a partner, because they incorporated open-source material into their products, that doesn't bother me. Should their statement be regarded as an egregious attempt to mislead, or is it a harmless bit of salesmanship? (you can't prove intent here) If their intention was to pay homage to the designer (while simultaneously hyping the product), it's hard for me to fault this as a violation of ethics. Considering that the designs were placed into the public domain, no other parties are under obligation to consult with Emilie on how to implement them either. For me, this is a non-issue, unless there is a lot more to this story that hasn't been made available.

She spoke out a bit over on Muffwiggler and Reddit. I haven't read the entire thread, but she didn't seem upset about it, just stated that she had zero involvement. I have no problem with them using her designs as they are in the public space, I just don't like that Arturia is playing it off like it's a collaboration; I wouldn't have had any issues at all had they just said they incorporated some modes from Mutable Plaits :idk:

This is kind of weird.

It's nice that they reached out, but at the same time it's odd to involve someone only at arm's length. To me it would've been better to involve her even less, rather than focus-testing her as she puts it.
