Helms Alee & Russian Circles two nights ago, both bands were super solid and put on a great show. & as if I needed to have even more respect for Brian Cook, he played bass while simultaneously triggering samples/keys with his fretting hand. Fuck that dude is so cool.

Aaaaaaaand I saw James Blake last night after waiting five years for the chance to see him. It was wonderful. Not all my favorite songs were played but seeing them all performed live and hearing that voice... mmph. Also, there was a song (Retrograde) where he made a really long loop of his vocals to play over and he got the timing just a bit off at the end, and the drummer looked like "oh fuck me" with a smile of his face. But they still played the song perfectly, just enough hesitation at the end of the loop to stay with it but loose enough to not make it sound awkward. Very impressive.

Hey hey they're playing here on Sunday with Kyoty, who I really dig.

And Gadget play the night before.

And Shellac play in like two weeks. :)

I caught Inter Arma sometime over the summer and it was quality. Would definitely recommend -- it was like 10$ to hit up the show so that feels pretty solid.

Yeah this show is priced similarly. Definitely looking forward to it -- it'll be a nice period on the end of this hellish week.

I saw Tobacco yesterday. Shit was off the richter. Bummer I was too broke to buy any merch. I really need a good bass fuzz now, after hearing that majesty!
