LaoWiz wrote:What's crazy is that I don't have any idea of how close it is to the original PLL. There's definitely some questions I have regarding a couple of major connections. Until that's settled there's a tremedous amount of oscilator bleed from the PLL chip. You don't notice it when you are playing as the PLL chips is doing its thing but when not playing there's a shitload of noise. Bread board makes things noisier but there's def some chip noise.
But it's way better than I expected. Some speedballin' Kevin Shields sounds fo sho. As is the multiplier alone is soundinding not great. The divider mixed with the multiplier and the square wave fuzz can sound really really great.
Mad respect for Dino and the kind gentleman who sent the PLL in for inspection / repair. It's at the very least something that people will be able to play finally. It's definitely ripe for modifications and bastardizations.
Fuck. I just...fuck.

Hey Laowiz, check diysb, I posted more info there about the oscillation.
For the multipler rotary section, it controls the divider as well. You can mute both, but the divider section won`t affect the multiplier if the divider volume is off. The opposite is not true, if the multiplier volume is off, the divider section can still be adjusted via the multiplier. This allows for in between octave settings on the divider side.
Arrange your pins 11 to lag pot wiring (see diysb post), and set up your pots like this (0 = min, 10 = max);
lag time - 0
response - 2
loop track - 4
loop speed switch - off (center position. or just through 0.47uF cap only)
pre amp - 5
squarewave - 5
shape - 5
multiplier vol - 0
divider vol - 0
master vol. - whatever is comfortable.
trigger - avoid setting it in the center (5). There`s a sweet spot in the middle that will constantly produce static. It acts as a voltage divider, and proportionally to the preamp. The more preamp you dial in, the lower you can set your trigger (either + or -). lower preamp settings, and low trigger settings get you into gated fuzz territory.
This will give you only the squarewave. Now just introduce either multiplier, or divider volume to hear what is going on.
Other pointers;
- the multiplier volume can be louder than the divider. Anything past 6 or 7 on the multiplier volume will really bring out the higher frequencies.
- the loop speed switch / lag time acts a note decay system. the switch gives you 3 ranges, and the lag time works the ranges between each one.

Updated schematics, and back traced vero are now available here;

Kick the tires, and light the fires people!

So very true. There was such a long lull in this thread where we'd come together, realize there was still nothing doin', bitch for awhile, then let it go. Repeat.
Hard to believe shit's starting to materialize.
