When I was a teenager there was a fella who worked as a short order cook at local diners.
At one point we worked together, and I saw up close the extent of his pronounced hinge-like limp, and stance as crooked as he walked.
He had polio as a kid, in Colombia. Good guy, great attitude. Idk how he feels about vaccines but I have a hunch how he'd react to antivax

Also, department stores (Nordstrom in particular) are a great threat to our national security. Something must be done about it.

When my kids were born, the antivaxxers were in full force and I don't think that the guy really pushed the MMR-vax-causes-autism had been denounced yet.
My wife and I thought long and hard about that one, none of the others, but the MMR was supposedly the one that really caused autism. For once, our pediatricians worked with us to explain it was all crap, and there was definatly alot of pushback against the anti-vaxxers building so we did it. Although, I would've been more than happy to split MMR up into three different shots, and I suspect I could've pushed for it.
In short, I don't blame naive parents entirely. There's alot of signal to noise out there, and the looney minority are by far more vocal and don't have the hindrance of real science to hold them back (it's alot like anti-gun people), but it's definatly a problem that shouldn't be.
As for autism? I dunno, I blame things like drugs, enviroment, high power lines, diet and aliens. Mostly aliens. Some of it can certainly be blamed on a lower threshold for detection, and some can be blamed on parents trying to find a reason their kids suck (fucking Asbergers is the most ridiculous fucking thing ever, which is a shame for the minority of people who really do have a problem and just aren't anti-social dickheads taking advantage of it).

I who work with this population I'm going to have to disagree with you. Aspergers is an outdated diagnostic term. Autism spectrum disorder has a wide range of symptoms. I've met people working on PHDs on the spectrum (who would have previously diagnosed as aspergers). And there is the kids I work with who are totally non communicative and usually the type of child anti-vaxxers reference. It is infuriating that anti-vaxxers equate autism with ruining their children. Early diagnosis paired with the right therapy can do wonders.

I guess it's difficult for people to square the fact that they have children they would have pushed into lockers or something.

Then you know exactly what I mean.
There's plenty of people who have real issues, and then there's tons of people who just have dickhead kids (or are dickheads) who claim shit like "autistic spectrum" and "asbergers" to cover up for the fact that they're jsut stupid, lack common sense, or are dickheads, regardless if "asbergers" is an outdated term or not.
