I have some extra parts laying around that I have been trying to put a plan together with and this guitar will serve as an inspiration I think. I have a tele neck pick up and a tele bridge cut for a humbucker that will be filled with the dream 90 pickup from gfs. I was thinking about buying a finished neck from warmoth with a body black already routed. That way I can cut up the body into a shape I want. I just need to settle on what exact shape.
Thanks!!! Skully built it originally but I've put some mods to it since then (different neck, different saddles, and now new p/u and electronics). I got to play with the pickup last night for about 5 minutes and about 30 minutes today at lunch, initial impressions are great; the clean tone is amazing, it takes to dirt well (its not for chugga chugga but chords are clear and articulate), and the overall tone is very balanced. I did do some tweaking to the poles on the pickup to even out the string volumes, all of them were quick and easy to dial in except the B string needed to be lowered more then all the rest. It's not a true WRHB but it so far seems to come really close to my MIM tele's WRHB, except a lil lower in output (which is actually a good thing as the MIM can overdrive real easy). The real test will come tonight through the gig rig instead of my lil 15w practice amp.
That parts guitar sounds pretty wicked!!! I love the GFS p90 p/u's and you can't go wrong with a tele neck p/u. I'd love to hear what body shape you go with. Also there's plenty of other cheaper options as far as bodies and necks that are custom made. This guitar was ordered through a shop that mainly works on eBay but it is excellently built and crafted for a fraction of the price of a warmoth.

I know you did, hence why I want you to put the final touch on it. It's only fitting.

Thats the other part I like about a of of guitars that have the natural finish, the feel. A lot of paints have the slick feel and I like the little bit rougher feel.
Also, Skip, when you get to play with that Ibanez delay a little bit more give us an update please. It looks really cool from what I have seen of it on youtube and it might replace the muza I have on my board now because I don't really use the muza for what it could do with all the delay modes.
For that guitar I was thinking up I have been up in the air about what shape it would be but I have been leaning towards maybe a combo of an rd with the lower horn being kinda like an iceman lower horn. I like that little flair. Oh course this would be some time away because I have already started the matamp build by getting the new transformers and I really want to get a pog to replace that octave I put on my board to fill its space.

I definitely will do, I'm hoping to do a demo video this weekend showing it on guitar (clean and dirty), bass (again clean and dirty) and in a noise situation.
Hmmm that could be really cool!!! I dont think warmoth does RD shapes but they do Iceman bodies if I remember correctly, and I always loved those guitars. I'm excited to see your matamp build for sure!

im still debating what I would want in my TM build. I keep bouncing around pickup ideas, pickup arrangements. Sheesh. I kind of like doing a big HB sized p90 in a telecaster bridge with a HB cut and maybe a traditional telecaster neck pickup.

Hmmmm kinda like a stephen carpenter ESP but with a p90 in the bridge.... in offset form.... I like this idea.

Aren't you the one with some crazy drinking stories that involve some cross dressing and what not?!?!?!

something like this but not a gold pup cover, just the only half decent warmoth model that was not chrome

I was thinking of just getting a warmoth body blank and cutting the shape myself but have them do the routing and neck pocket so I don't screw that up.
And what can I say, I like my guitars like I like my men; dark, natural, oiled up and a bit rough.

I like your DIY mentality, I'd love to do that but have no way to cut the body.
HAHAHAHA TWSS.

Yeah, I've thought about going that route with the Warmonth blank as well. Seems like an awesome way to get exactly what you want!
Half tempted to get one and just leave it as is, rectangle and all
