So I got 5 minutes with my new Ibanez ES2 delay at lunch today. Initial impressions are very positive, good tone, the modulation can be very musical or very crazy, the oscillation switch will be a god send to noise fanatics, and the delay time slider is actually heavier duty then I thought and was lead on to believe. Downsides: yes the tap tempo is a PITA, and it eats batteries (lasted 5 minutes with a freshie, I didn't have a power supply at the house). Whil it did sound really good for the price on guitar I have a feeling this thing will shine on bass and noise boards. Honestly haven't had an easier delay to use for noise, definitely a keeper for that.

Threw it in last night and wired up some gibson 500k vol and tone pots (with an orange .47 cap) just waiting on the tone knob to come in from Skully and its all done. I have some extra parts laying around that I have been trying to put a plan together with and this guitar will serve as an inspiration I think. I have a tele neck pick up and a tele bridge cut for a humbucker that will be filled with the dream 90 pickup from gfs. I was thinking about buying a finished neck from warmoth with a body black already routed. That way I can cut up the body into a shape I want. I just need to settle on what exact shape.

Oh you put it together? I didn't know that. Awesome! It really looks great. I have a thing for wood grains on guitars. I don't really like paint at all and all my guitars show the grain through the stain or dye. I especially like the dark brown colors. I was just going to write I really like the dark brown stains and then realized what that could mean.

Yeah I bought the body from a dude off ebay and sanded it, finished it, and oiled it. It's an Ebony stain that I left on for about 13 minutes and then rag-wiped off. Finished it with 7 rubbings of tru-oil. I'm with you on the wood-grain guitars. My perfect guitar would be that Telemaster with an aluminum neck. Perfect combination of amazing wood mixed with my favorite type of neck.
I would totally recommend oiling instead of spraying any sort of poly, it's just easier and feels really, really nice.
