For posterity:
VERY COOL, VERY RARE KRAMER/VACCARO V2. ALUMINUM NECK, ENCASED IN WOOD, FOR SMOOTH FEEL AND TONE. ALSO ALUMINUM HEAD STOCK. THESE GUITARS WERE ONLY MADE FOR A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, FROM 1998 TO 2002. THEY ARE VERY LIMITED AND VERY RARE TO FIND ON THE MARKET.

THIS GUITAR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ONLY ONE SMALL SCRATCH ON THE BACK (SEE PIC) NECK IS GREAT, WITH GREAT LOW ACTION. SOMEONE REPLACED THE VACCARO HUMBUCKER BRIDGE PICK UP, WITH A SEYMOUR DUNCAN HUMBUCKER. I HAVE THE ORGINIAL VACCARO HUMBUCKER PICK UP THAT WAS REMOVED. (NOT PICTURED) WILL BE INCLUDED ALONG WITH THE GUITAR. THIS GUITAR FEELS, SOUNDS AND PLAYS GREAT.

DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS EXTREMELY RARE GUITAR. YOU ARE NOT LIKLEY TO SEE ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT ON THE MARKET. COME'S WITH GIG BAG.

NOTE:

CAN'T BELEIVE ALL YOU LITTLE MARY'S, WHO VIEWED, AND HAD THIS RARE AND UNUSUAL GUITAR ON YOUR WATCH LIST, IS A PIECE OF GUITAR HISTORY. AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN MAKE AN ANY ATEMPT TO BID ON IT. IT'S REALLY A TESTEMENT TO THE SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS THIS COUNTRY IS IN. EVRYBODY IS CHICKEN _HIT, PUSSEY, AFRAID TO BID ON SOMETHING THAT WILL ONLY COME ALONG ON VERY, VERY RARE OCCATION'S. I'AM SADDEN BY THE LACK OF GOOD OLD AMERICAN FORITUDE, IN GOING AFTER SOMETHING YOU WANT. I'AM RELISTING THIS IN HOPES THAT SOMEONE HAS SOME GUT'S TO DO WHAT THEY WANT. AND BID ON SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT SEE AGAIN. DON'T LET ME DOWN. AND YOU WILL GET A GREAT GUITAR IN RETURN. AND KEEP THE GUITAR WORLD TURNING.
Caps his.

It's cause Vaccaros blow compared to other aluminum guitars. Like even lower than Kramers.

Yeah It's weird cause korean Vaccaros were going for around $300 at their end run and now are jumping up, ones been on CL around here at 600 for awhile.

Hmm. Looks a bit like the Vista series Squier Venus. I'm assuming the Vaccaros came before.

So for us wood grabbing gawkers (TWSS) what is the general aluminum neck hierarchy?

they overlapped actually I think Vaccaros were made in the late 90s into early 2000s. Visitas were mid 90s? I remember Courtney Love with one.

Yep, the Venus was her signature model. I still want the twelve string version despite that fact.

I'm having a flash now of a picture of another guitar she was playing before the Squier that had that sorta look.

starting from bottom of the pit to the top:

Vaccaro -> Kramer -> then it splits into two categories, whether you want to go vintage or not. If you want to go vintage, a Bean is your bet, the prices are just getting nuts.
In terms of modern aluminum its a free for all between EGC/Bastin/Obstructures. Early Bastin seems to be completely different than the recent Bastin but I know phanta has an early Bastin and loves it so that's promising. I haven't seen too many of the newer Obstructures out in the wild

I think I may just buy this, assuming it's still available. I love G&L's, but haven't had one for a while now. I'd prefer an old SC-2, but those are hard to find now and getting kind of pricey.

Ibanez AD99 analog delay $65 and RC99 Rotary Chorus pedals in Falls Church, North Virginia. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 55428.html

Peavey Session Bass head for $80 in Columbia Heights DC. (Supposed to be underpowered for gigging, but nice sounding with a similar preamp to the Firebass head and this is about half what the going rate seems to be.) http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/ ... 39315.html
