I definitely prefer EA into rat. Other direction sounded weird like they were canceling the cool aspects of the other instead of accentuation/adding to. I normally leave my accountant real late in my signal chain so that it can squash the delays and reverbs for textures and loops so that just stayed there, not really part of the gain staging. :thumb:
Belated thanks for this thought-provoking rundown.... :snax:

The seller has recieved mixed reviews, but the wood enclosure looks pretty spiffy:

Lack of side shots.. sketch. Si perc is literally like 6$ of parts minus enclosure so I'm not surprised... if it's Germanium stuff that's even more sketch, but it only has one.. and nearly anything works, though other stuff sounds better. Yeah I don't know.. :idk:

They're playing with a Fredric Utility Perk here at 16:00 (not to mention leading off with an Audio Kitchen Flying Squirrel):

Nice find. My wot reaction is: that Fender Pelt looked and sounded pretty great even through all the unrepentant bloozwank...off to mack on that shizz elsewhere....

I'm back. What a cesspit of demo hell.

Makes no diff, even sounding and looking nice was not going to get that pedal off my 'wait til $22 list'

The Fender does sound kinda nice.

Yeah, this demo was a hasty podge. It's like they took 9 fuzzes they've never plugged in and said "let's make a video".

I've been feeling the perc fever again.

Haha--yeah, it's kinda like malaria--it might go away for a while, but eventually it will flare up again. It's a life-long condition :animal:

Which is the general favorite for lower gain stuff? I loved what the utility perk did to my high end with the gain down

I still like the Utility Perk for that. It's versatile too.

Land Devices is good for low gain. It's dark though. Even Anguish sounds nice at lower gain and it's bright. :thumb:

Drock's perc also does low gain incredibly well, as does Catalinbread's Karma Suture. The latest Zander Cafetiere is another option with tons of flexibility at lower gain levels, as is the Barge Concepts BP-1, both of which offer more footswitchable gain if needed.

Came here to rec D-Rock's for the low gain in particular...though I feel like most of the versions I've owned have also been pretty good for lower gain stuff, especially with guitar volume knob roll-back.... D-Rock's just has so much range and there are many low-gain tones and flavas to be had. :)*
