fucking LOVE the Amber series. but i did read it when i was a kid the first time. some of the Earth stuff was a little dated then, but i was too much of a shut-in to pick up on it. the second series (second half of that monster tome) is good, but the first is the one i alwyas had lovedededed. still reread it every now and again.
read the next two books in the Hunger Games trilogy! if you liked the first, it just gets better. and MEANER. second book starts off a little slow, but then it's pretty awesome until the end of the series.
i thought it was going to be all light and Twilighty too, but except for the romance angle, which they play a little better as the series goes on, it's all really enjoyable. it actually tries to tackle a society level subject.... not the most original one, but at least it deals with interesting concepts. and is way more geared towards adults than i thought it would be.

love that series. it's broken up into two arcs, i think each is like 6 books long? they're all in that one Giganta-tome in the pic there though. the Hey Groooooovy Man late 60's/early 70's vibe is a little weird now, that goes away in about a hundy pages from where you're at. the main setting region has a more timeless feel about it. it's my favorite thing Zelazny did, and the first arc is one of his most coherent i think.

yeah I figured If I was going to start an epic story I might as well go all the way and buy the whole series in one book.
My favorite stories are the Dark tower series and the dragonlance series. yeah I like long books

ya i got a twilighty feel from the romance part, mainly because the whole two dudes in her life, she doesnt know blah blah blah, kinda worried it was just another one of those books

nope. it's still a tiny bit distracting that the furthest they mostly go with the romancy bits are kiss kiss. THAT makes it feel a little like it's for tweeners, but they do back away from that a lot as the series progresses. and i guess that it's more of a situation that the main character doesn't really want to deal with, instead of some vapid bimbo obsessing of two Hawtie Boyz. 'specially after the first book that part of it really didn't bother me at all.

ya i keep waiting for someone just to rail katniss, kinda hopin its haymitch and he does it all like hentai schoolgirl/bondage/tentacle porn style where shes all crying and shit but he dont care, hes drunk and pussy's pussy. but then i realize this is geared for tweens and realize how edgy this book is for them, already with all the cootie swappin and all

I felt like the Hunger Games was way more tame than books I read as a teenager. Also, I didn't like it much.

i liked it a lot. but i kinda turned off the parts of my brain that get offended at soften'ing up stuff for a more general/younger audience. lulz. the author has gone to great lengths to stress that this is for Young Adults, NOT TWEENERS. but for me it was sort of like a good action movie...... just having fun and taking it for what it was made me enjoy it bunches.

Snagged the first two game of throne books from a family member. Time to see what the fuss is all about.

lol. Battle Royale's good too. otaku nerds flipping out yelling THEY RIPPED OFF BATTPE ROYALE.... that shit's kinda silly. they're bth way different directions they take using the Roman Gladiatorial games as inspiration.
oof. i sound like a defensive ass fan boy. i didn't want to read it at first 'casue of the Tweeny overtones, but i was out of books so i lent it to myself from my mom's Kindle library and did dig on it a lot.
Battle Royale 2 (ze movie) is fucking horrible. in a way different way than the og BR was horrible. not the good horrible kind of movie.
