Not modular but my Jomox Alpha base arrived...HOLY SHIT THIS THING THUMPS

When I was looking at cheaper modules yesterday, I looked at the Ears for a sec, glad I kept looking and landed on the Walk.

I have someone offering me bitcoin payment for most of th rest of my Buchla...IDK. I suggested he pad the payment to account for volatility since I intend to cash out immediately. What do you guys think? I have a wallet (and some Ripple in it) but I have to have this Buchla cash for my next steps.

Behndy, you're one of the ones that really brought the Digitakt to my attention. So this is mostly your fault.

I'm thinking I'll sell/trade my Drumbrute for the Digitakt. I won't need it once I get one.

Not even one letter?

But yeah, good to know. From what I've seen, the the Digitakt will give me way better drum sounds and similar program and controls. And then there's all of the sampling, which is what really gets me excited

This could definitely work

I didn’t really dig mine but I bought it for the wrong reasons and with a prejudicial bias against it. Its a great sampler and beat maker, but for me it wasn’t a great sequencer for outboard gear. I’ve been on the Cirklon waiting list long enough to expect an email in the next month or three. I still don’t know if I will plunk it down for a Cirklon, it’s MUCH money! So I’ve been getting a little squirelly trying to hit it off with a cheaper option but the Digitakt wasn’t it for me. I’m currently keeping an eye out for a used Squarp Pyramid or Midibox v4, so if you see one CC me and I will owe you the angriest of handy jobs.

I also looked at the digitakt in no small part because of you all and it actually does not look like something I'd enjoy working with. I enjoy the simple immediacy of my drumbrute more than I'm dying for a more powerful yet complicated machine. Maybe I'll play one and change my mind someday?

Anyhow, finally have some reverb in the rack!

SO my account was deactivated for a few days because I updated my email to one that I still use BUT now I am back and I must tell the tales of the Tetrapad and the Tapographic Delay.

First: Tapographic Delay is fantastic. Certainly a strange device at first. The sync function doesn't work exactly as you might expect at first but it ends up making sense. The real highlight is having these different kind of repeats (a high pass, low pass, and normal) that can all be happening simultaneously or next to each other and it sounds amazing. It's like a mini-Rainmaker minus the flexibility or depth. The best function is the Morph functionality, which lets you slowly (or quickly) transition between presets - and it can be quite dramatic. Lovely module, doubt I'll ever sell it. Sits perfectly next to the DLD. [Disclaimer: I'm a delay junkie in guitar pedals too so I'll always have a sweet spot for delay]

Second: Tetrapad. This one is gonna take some time to use properly, or rather to its fullest extent. It has so many modes already, and all of them are so different it's a little hard to keep up. The manual is very extensive and in depth which is great because it certainly needs it. I will admit I was put off at first because I feel like something like this could've used another indicator for what mode you're in, but it's not THAT big of a deal. With the rest of my loot coming today, I'll have a better idea of where things are gonna sit and what I'll use the Tetrapad for. I will say, despite the complexity of it, the thing is really impressive. The touch sensors relay pressure and location quite accurately and it adds a new dimension of control to the modular.

My guy Mr MSUsousaphone got me this gnarly Moffenzeef Modular Mito trigger sequencer/clock divider & I'm STOKED to hook it up! Anyone messed with one before, and if so do you know if it tracks at audio rate? If so there could be some gnarly PLL potential hidden within.

ALSO Emily Sprague's album dropped this AM, so here it is again now that the rest of the tracks are present: https://mlesprg.bandcamp.com/releases
Super inspiring stuff :)

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Since some of you were asking about it here's my first little mess around with the Recovery Cutting Room Floor. Since it is an amplified circuit some of the sound sources i tried it with distorted way too much going directly in. Had to put an attenuator in between to get it to a good input level. I wouldn't get it if you want the input to sound exactly like it would if this module was bypassed. Even when all the way dry it still changes the character of the input quite a bit. This is good with some sound sources and applications and not great with others.... BUT the ones it works with, it works WELL. I really like it with Rings which is what is in this little clip... adds some really nice grit to it. Then for the effects of the module, really nice. The wow, flutter and shape all interact really well together and i dig that there's a delay built in as well. A lot of fun!

I got my Teletype in yesterday. I'm going to go all out tomorrow while I'm "working" from home figuring this thing and the Grids out.
