I believe they are 800w each divided 8ohm 4x10 or 1600w as a mono 4ohm. As pointed out in another post the 4x15 without the power amp to really push it, is more to look loud then it is to be loud. Since they are so high powered and mainly focus on low frequencies you would need alot of power to get it thumping and worth the investment. If you can't get loud enough with an 8x10 and 2x15 then you might have some other issues hahaha

True! Never thought of it like that.
I'll give the 810/215 and 2 heads a go. DOS brought up a good point though... Distorted 15"s sound better than distorted 10"s, I agree with him on that.
I want to run one rig dirty, and the other clean or cleaner underneath it.

I agree distorted 15's do sound better, if your going to do a dirty / clean split amp setup definitely put dirt through the 15's and keep the tens for your clean tone. Should sound ungodly heavy.

Definitely have thought about doing this...

do it.

it sounds amazing. with a compressor in front of a Melx V2 Fuzz and into a 2x15 and a cheap Squier P-bass it was the heaviest, most awesome bass tone i've ever gotten out of anything, to be honest.

Holy Schnikes wrote:If I was you, I'd go ahead and find a Gibson before dumping too much cash into an Epi. However, if it plays well and you truly love it, could be a really tough call. You'll have to search long and hard to find a solid Gibson as well. I've learned that one the hard way, just because it says Gibson on the headstock does not ensure amazing playability and build quality. Not even close most the time...

I had to search almost 2 years to find my LP Custom, compared sooooooooo many and found that for the money, only the Historics or a nice used model were even worth a shit. I had the help of my GC buddy to get a buncha guitars in my hands tho and get a fat chunk of cash discounted off the '68RI I finally settled on in the end.

Here's the real kicker. Unless you luck into the exact configuration you're after, may still need to swap some expensive parts. I had to replace most of the electronics and hardware to get it how I wanted, wasn't digging the stock '57 Classics or the shitty ABR-1 bridge so I started there. Some of the decisions were aesthetically based but most were pure function. Pickups, pots, caps, 3-way toggle, tuner buttons, knobs, bridge, tailpiece, all of it was swapped. The guitar plays so well and is incredibly stable, setup rarely needs any tweaking. I also love how it looks. I figured those were the important aspects, very hard to alter. Electronics and hardware were all secondary in my search, easily changed if you don't mind dumping a little more cash into 'em....

May as well post mine again. This is it after several years of upgrading/customizing. Def worth it for your #1 or #2 guitar imo. I'll never let this one go now that I've put so much time and effort and $$ into making it perfect for me. :thumb:

I heart that color so much.

Glad the Hovercraft is working out for you - saw that they have a re-purposed 22h as well Model T on ch1 and high gain ch2, which definitely has my interest.

The only problem (aside from a wife who isn't incredibly understanding about gear purchases) is that there isn't even a Gibson dealer in town. I would have to drive like two hours away to hit a couple Guitar Centers and hang out with Crohny, which would be fun, but is more time and hassle than I can bother with right now. I do love the epi and it has some sentimental value to me - plus it's silverburst and looks really snazzy. It's just always been really muddy and dull sounding so I go long periods of time without playing it. I do hate the shape of the headstock though

I may do some upgrades and see if that gets me what I want. I was thinking Duncan Distortion in the bridge and a 59 in the neck? New pots, switches, tuners, and bridge wouldn't be a terrible idea either...

That's still the best LP ever. Green and silver is shockingly underused.

Matamp GT120 in green (with extra shit). Dude also has a green 4x12 and 2x15. Old school hcfx dude so he's good people as far as I know. Price seems high, but all Matamp prices in the US seem high to me.

I've said it before, but I wouldn't dream of paying over 1 grand for an amp unless it was a custom job.

Thanks dude, I'm pumped. Since the badascan is unmarked, are the controls the same as the Pharaoh? That is, Fuzz (lower left) Vol (lower right), Tone (upper left) and Highs (upper right)?
