I think those ear plugs are great. For practice especially. After a REALLY loud show (Explosions in the Sky if you can believe it) my ears were still ringing though.

yea they list like -10 to -12 dB attenuation. that is not a whole tone of drop but better then nothing.

I got a Satin Nickel TonePros AVR-II bridge and matching Tailpiece, the TIZS I believe it is, not the aluminum version. Shit is solid. My original ABR bridge had annoying issues with buzz from that retainer wire, always fixing that and the saddles just wiggled around in there. Very loose fit. The TonePros has the retaining wire for looks only as the saddles are actually held in with tiny C-clamps. The saddle fit is so much better, nice and snug so it's solid as fuck, no buzzing. Ever.

I think the overall build quality of the TonePros stuff is just as responsible for improved sustain/resonance as the little screws you use to "lock" it down to the posts....

You only really need to take the edge off. -10dB is fine.

I might end up going custom, too. Those Mammoth cabs look pretty nice.

And empty paradigm! Denver is on our list. I can guarantee we won;t get that far before the album is done though. But we just finished mixing it on Friday so theoretically late summer or fall is possible.

Also I got a SMASHING tone running the Iron Pig into the Naga Viper. Fucking bold.

Fuck yeah on both counts, brother man. Glad the IP is treatin' ya well!

I'm watching all of the 800's on eBay, even though I'm not selling my amp for another month or two. It's fixed now and it's all fine, just having a final go over with my tech before I will get rid, but I've had so much hassle with it. It's like a relationship that's ending or being stuck in a room with someone you know you're dumping soon.

Yeah, but I'm sure you'll be happier in the long run. I know that amp has given you loads of trouble -- it'll be good to have a dependable amp!

Bass amp is about 500 watts when running 2 8 ohm loads.
Guitar amp will be 100 watts, also running a 2x12 @8 ohms.

Big bens look promising, so do delta pros but i might end up using it more often on guitar so I have no fucking clue. Speaker shopping sucks. SAVE ME

Delta Pro's my friend! I've had both (Nick has my old Big Ben, and I have Delta's right now), and the deltas are far superior if your going to be using them with bass. They have a fatter, flatter and cleaner (no coloration from the speaker unlike a big ben) over all tone, and since they are high wattage theres a much smaller chance of blowing them. I'm currently using 2 Delta 12LFA's in my gig rig for bass and love them, they don't have much high end but when paired with 12's on guitar its full and beefy.

I have a celestion sidewinder and a delta pro in my Marshall 2x15. I use it for guitar (tuned to B or A) and I love it so much more than my 4x12s. I back the delta pro as well.

skullservant wrote:Got a stomach bug last night, or just some really bad food poisoning. Stuck at home today....

I can attest to the glory of Delta Pro 12's, they rule. Like Ancient said, no discoloration or roll off, and definitely can be used for both guitar and bass. Compared to my Delta 12LFC the 12LFC is waaaay darker and has a lot more high frequency roll off, but both are loud as hell for sure

thanks bros! ill look into grabbing a set once it warms enough to leave glue outside haha. Itll be running with 2 -4 12 inch speakers so SHould fill up nicely....OH WAIT IM MIXING DRIVERS NOOOOOO :picard:
I make guitars and stuff, check it out at...

I paid money to get the custom molded jobs. Seriously totally worth it. Everything is just quieter, no muffle, you don;t have to shout to hear yourself... They are expensive but man are they worth it. mine are the -25db.

Like 180, at a cabella's i didn;t have to go to a ENT specialist like my drummer did. They honestly are so comfortable i've made it half way home from shows before i realize they are still in my ears.

Once you've bought them you've bought them. You shouldn't need to replace them if you're careful not to lose them. It's once off purchase in that sense.

Curse the son! The guitar-man from that band was one of the previous owners of my Mat.
