I was going to get it custom cut, but talking to a super high rated tech who does this sorta stuff, and he said not to bother unless it's actually damaged?

I can't tell if its actually affecting anything. My frets are still kinda buzzy but I don't notice it through an amp. Especially with dirt, which I use 80% of the time.

I still wanna get a staytrem. And some Alumitones ;)

I gotta stop spending money on pedals so I can finish upgrading my bass.

Should be getting an Alumitone pretty soon, I'm going to the tech tomorrow :poke: ;)

I'm finally getting the stay trem on mine+an actual set up

I am going to, very shortly. I'll be sure to post an update when it's done. The soft plastic is just terrible.
What material are you going with? I'm thinking I may pick up a bone one and get my bass a real set up so I can stop dealing with shitty playability
I'm getting a bone one, yeah. Will get it set up too. Looking forward to it! :joy:

Planning on picking up a Pawnshop VI next week. Very excited. I've had experience with offsets and bass before so I feel like this will be the perfect instrument for me.

I wanna keep it mostly like a bass with the ability to play crushing chords and a few arpeggios. How do you guys set your amps/what kinda amps are you using?

Also, I really want to use the trem arm a lot, but I've seen a lot of complaints about it. What should I do to make it all better?

I use a V4 into both a bass and guitar cab, bass set pretty flat, mids cranked, treble to taste. Compression and a decent set up is crucial to good chord tone for me, and get heavier strings. As far as the trem, a stay trem or mastery bridge seems to be a good alternative? I'm getting mine installed currently so I don't have firsthand experience on that.

http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Par ... aster.htmlI'm considering picking one of these up to replace the trem with so I can have a trem lock? Might be useful on the Pawnshop one too

Cooooool. Also, what's the general consensus with string types and gauges? Heard some demos with flatwoujds that made it sound way more bass guitar like.

Circle K .102 or .106 strings give it some much needed oomph. Dunno about flats but I imagine they would help make it more bass like.

Flats are ok if you don't need attack and punch. Not my cup of tea. You may want to try using heavier roundwounds and a bass amp, or better yet, a dual bass amp + guitar amp rig.

That's a good idea. Plan on running a 200 plus watt fender bass head into my emperor 1x18 and my laney AOR 100 into my eden 4x10. Although, I may be overpowering the guitarist with that hahah.

So I totally love this thing. I'm scared to plug it into a guitar amp though, won't those lower frequencies devour a guitar speaker?

Don't be scared. I use mine with my AC30 when I'm away from the bass amp in out rehersal room. With fuzz and all that jazz. It just doesn't sound as badass.

Just finished some upgrades on this one. Added:

Faction Guitars hardtail plate
Staytrem bridge
Circle K strings 98 set

Also put a small shim in the neck. Still dialing it in, but night and day difference.
