Well, most of it has been covered, but yeah, it's what is often called a "single voice" module. Its got the filter, which you can run other audio into, of course, oscillator, and I'm assuming theres some sort of enveloping going on in there.

HOnestly right now it looks like it's about 85% ready. A little rough around the edges, compared to Moog's usual "wrought from black metal by the Almighty's own hands" look. That said, most of the face is currently on point. It uses the slim/talll font from ye olde moog modulars for a really tough industrial look.

I guess the sequencer is 32 steps (FUYAH) and you can also STORE sequences in the unit. So... yeah, songs can be held inside the thing. Public announcement next month, I hear. I would expect this to actually ship this winter, like after NAMM. OUr new employee Feng is pretty boned up about it, so hopefully he'll get one and we can play/show/discuss proper.



IN OTHER NEWS: MAKE NOISE TELHARMONIC. Holy living shit. It's like one of my computer drone pieces in a module. Highly recommended. I want to get another one. If you're after something "different" and aren't phobic of digital instruments, do it quick.

I'd replace one of the VCOs with something completely different, like Braids, rather than having two of the same. The delay is nice, but there are so few euro delays that can compete with pedals and racks that I might just go with a simple little cheapie or a multi-fx for my euro delay, and patch out to pedals and racks for the deep stuff. Also applies to pitch shifting, and dirt of course. Rosie also has more to offer than the Pittsburgh Outs if you don't mind a large & small headphone jack as your main (dual stereo) outputs.

I'd like to highlight that I'm trying to go cheap first to learn the ropes. Else I would have gotten a Rubicon and a telharmonic as my VCOs.

Would I be able to use the fx loop in the rosie for pedals? If so then it'll replace both the fx loop and the outs in the set up.

Yes, but depending on how the pedals handle super hot signals (10vpp or so) you might need something to attenuate and then reamplify the signal. The Rosie's fx return has a max amplification of a bit more than 100% but it's probably not enough to go from line level to modular.

In my experience, at least some effects like the time-based Boss pedals handle modular level signals pretty nicely but anything with a DSP or overdrive/distortion/fuzz related will need attenuation/amplification.

Someone feel free to correct me as I'm a complete novice here, but wouldn't one advantage of having a delay module be possibly being to run cv through it too? Not sure if the SoS can do that...

I went a bit mad with "special effect" units and flash oscillators for first modules, but now I find myself getting excited over logic modules, I'm working my way through the muffs MATHS manual and thinking I might need another one.

Yup! That's why I have that there. Eventually I'll replace it with Clouds, but that's once I have built a good starting system.

You probably know that already but the digital Roland modules eat a lot of power so you should definitely power them separately with their own adapter rather than using the uZeus (or you won't have much power left for the other modules)...
