Amazing so far! I've been sitting on this copy for over a year...shoulda started it sooner.
If James Joyce had been a huge Kurt Vonnegut fanboy, he'd write like this

I'm making slow measured progress through PKD's Exegesis right now and ripping through A Scanner Darkly while I'm at it.

multi-book!!

i'm back into Children Of Men. it's...... even more bleak than the movie. because it's first person. and the main character is NOT a happy or even good person. it's ok. kinda making myself keep going at this point. it's kinda interesting, hope it gets better.

LOVE the movie.

I cried like a baby at the end.
It was my favorite of his books until I read Blood Meridian, which is bleak but in a different way. Maybe a little less soul-crushing. Maybe...
No Country for Old Men was good as well. Probably everything he does is good. Also you should read these because they are amazing: http://yelpingwithcormac.tumblr.com/pos ... co-trilogy

David Foster Wallace is great. If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading Infinite Jest. It's biblical in page count, but well worth the work in the end.

actually i was reading infinite jest ages ago but i haven't picked it up in a while. it sits on my shelf taunting me. i think i'm going to attempt to actually do a dedicated read through once i'm done with brief interviews. i love dfw's style.

Don't really know what it's about, but it was given to me with much praise.

I read that book a couple years ago. Bukowski is pretty dang unlikeable in that, so much so that it made me try stop all self-loathing/misanthropic attitudes. Cool book, though. I like reading other people's lives.
