Seriously, sooo stoked for this. I haven't been this excited about a new pedal since the good dr. Scientist started redesigning the cosmichorus!

zetamkiii wrote:Wow, Dino is actually working on this. This is very good news. I had noticed him trying to locate a PLL on many other forums, It is good to see someone actually sent him one. The broken one too none the less, It's like fate has come full circle, the timing almost seems a bit too convenient... The story of this pedal has been very strange but it looks as if we may get that schematic after all.
Wasn't very broken really. Problem was solid core wire, breaking at the solder point. Replacing all the solid core, with good quality multi-strand did the trick. I also replaced all the sheilded IN/OUT wires too, with RG-174. Quick check with the tone generator proved that everything was working as it should.
Seriously, the PLL is much more usable than the Japanese Guitar Synth. The JGS is really a monophonic beast, and a very glitchy one at that. It did have a great Moog style envelope section to it, but that's about it. The Slacktave front end did help the tracking somewhat, but still glitchy, and monophonic. That's why I yanked it off the breadboard.
It's a shame that the Second Voice videos are such crap. There's no real way to compare the Second Voice to the PLL that way. All I can say is that i really like the square wave fuzz of the PLL. Very raw, agressive, and guteral, and with the trigger turned down, gives you a nice "snap, crackle, pop" to the decay.
Right now, I've found that it can replace my Uglyface, and my Parallel Universe II, quite easily. It will give that envelope sound that the Uglyface can give you (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOgLOOdH7GI&list=UUseEC16nFl140RLOqRJ9png&index=1 ), and now that I figured out how the Drone set up works, it also moves into the P.U. II oscillator territory as well. With octaves as well? We have a winner.
I do wish I was a brain cell in John Schumann's head though. Just so I can see what his ideas were for the Arpeggiator add-on. Oh well, we got all the meat. Guess the bones will have to wait. Follow it at DIYSB's

Those vids are really nice. I'm hoping that there's a veritable explosion of PLL-evolved boxes that come out of this whole exploration. T'would be very cool.

Yeah, sorry about that. I tend to babble a bit too much, but I'm always afraid that I'll leave something out. I hate leaving people in the dark like that.
I guess if you've got the attention span of a chipmunk, my videos can be pretty brutal.

GAS can turn you into a 6 foot chipmunk easily. Especially for this mother of unicorn pedals.
