Hey, if you make one of these and throw in a tiny speaker for it I'd be all over it. That being said, the $50 price point is awesome.

Prototyping is finished.
It has evolved amidst my flurry of ideas.

It's ending up as a single 386 IC. After experimenting and studing, I found that due to speaker impedance matching, a bridged 386 amp won't deliver extra power, unless used with an uncommon speaker load like 32 ohms. SO, single chip it is.

It will be a fun toy though. I will be posting a thread with ordering info later tonight!

With only one chip, it'd be even cheaper then?

Would this work well as a headphone amp? And as a preamp to recording through the line in on a computer?

It could be modded to have a headphone jack. I dont think id recommend it as a direct recording device though, due to lack of master volume or cab simulation. mostly it is intended to be a) a small amp for fun or recording or b)an inline distortion for fun or recording

How difficult of a mod? Or could I just use an adaptor to feed the line out to headphones?

It shouldnt be too hard.
on a side note, I wont be able to get a stamp due to money situations atm :/

the mod would be the same as the mod you would do to a ruby amp
