Racking my brain for decent rehearsal spaces that don't cost a mint..... coming up blank. Places tend to be £10-£15 ph with a decent pa and backline. There's a real cheap place on Camden/parkhurst road (Camden arts centre or something?), maybe too small though. Drumkit and PA are ass but it was £7 ph last time I went. What general area we thinking?

True, my experience of rehearsal spaces in London is that they're all tiny! if you want the full stage experience there's the premises in Hackney - there'll likely be some mid-high level bands practicing in there too! Could be a good baba yagas hut gig on. There's a few metal pubs around, and a good goth pub in Camden.
