DADAEE or DADADD are what I currently use.
DDAAEE / CCGGDD - heavy drones
AADADE - a friend's tuning
CGDGBB - Psychic Hearts tuning

Open C (CGCGCE) is amazingly good. I'm normally tuned to this 70% of the time, it's just pretty hard to sound bad.

Experimenting with ADADGA, pretty heavy.

Just went down to plain old C-standard and have been having a whale of a time. Maybe this is the answer? Everything the same as before but.... Lower?

Thurston Moore has two tunings I really like

D D A F# A D from the Eternal
C G D G B B from A Thousand Leaves, Solo and Chelsea Light Moving (upper string unison variation of one of Pavement's tunings)

Mike Sullivan has some neat variations on DADGAD for more dissonance. Basically he tunes the top and bottom strings down a half step, and occasionally the fifth string as well so he can have an open position power chord on the bottom.

C#-A-D-G-A-C# (2 songs on Empros)
B-F#-C-F-G-B (most of Memorial)
