Yeah I do, didn't mean to be shitting all over the thread just like you didn't mean to get out any pitchforks. Just slightly bemused!vidret wrote:I mean, it's no biggie, but it's pretty funny. Re: "Sorry buddy. Not really my problem"
There's two ways of telling that story.
"I got a great deal on a Gretsch because the local Guitar Center discounted the wrong one. When I went back in they asked me to trade them for the right one but I said no. Eff those guys" doesn't sound half as bad as the way it's currently written. Saying "Sorry buddy. Not really my problem." to someone that just told you they're in big trouble just shows callousness and a lack of compassion. It's the way it's put out there that shows dissonance with supposed Christian values. Unless he's a prosperity gospel guy. FUCK those guys.

Some of the guys/gals in the megachurch bands here around ATL are pulling in close to six figures for 2-3 performances a week AND the churches shell out for the gear on top of that.gnomethrone wrote:brb, finding religionjrfox92 wrote:Some of them have their entire boards bankrolled by the church.

Re: "Sorry buddy. Not really my problem"
At the top of the hill in my neighborhood is where all the rich people live, so they can look out over the lake. At the bottom of the hill is where I live with the other poor people. There is a magnificent church beside my house that all the rich people come down into the dredges to attend. It needed to have been built at the bottom because it's very tall, and would obstruct their view if it was any higher. They regularly have classic car shows where the church members get together in the parking lot and show off to all the desperate hungry people how rich they must be to afford pristine restorations of 1930's Fords and stuff. Less than half of the households on my street can afford to own cars at all. If Jesus owned a Model A, I think he would have sold it to buy bicycles for everyone in the neighborhood. But that's not important to them. They go to church to feel better about themselves; not to learn humility and compassion. But maybe I'm just bitter.
