What the fuck is going on in the stylophone universeThings have not gone that well for Stylophone in recent times. The lack-luster response to the Stylophone S2 released with a lot of fanfare back in 2012 (it’s too expensive!). And then there’s the unfortunate association with a certain bearded Australian who is currently serving time at the pleasure of her majesty.

the original Stylophone was endorsed and heavily promoted by a cat named Rolf Harris, who was Australian and...I guess fought crocodiles and giant spiders off of his front porch while playing one??? what do Australians put on the tv when they want their kids to shut up? he did that. with a stupid beard. it looked stupid but fashionable in the 70s and today it looks like Colonel Sanders but fine tuned for frying kangaroo instead of chicken

Hoping WMD will FINALLY announce a released date for the Geiger Counter Pro. I saw somewhere the Chase Bliss should be debuting something and were planning at least two releases this year. I'd love to see a fuzz and filter. And a ring mod, but I can't see him doing that anytime soon.

I'm stoked for the squier bullet mustang! I want the fender version but that's a little too expensive for a guitar I don't need. This seems perfect!

EVIL FILTER CONFIRMED(PCBs at the top)
I'm not really sure about the others, but I have a feeling they might be delays (based solely on the 16-pin IC looking solder joints).

If it's a mini Echo Dream they need to call it Echo Nap. Obligatory.

New MPCs. I am very intrigued. Ive always wanted "ableton-in-a-box" and a friend of mine has the MPC1000 with the JJOS that has felt like the closest thing with some limitations. This feels alot more fully fledged.

Yeah that is crazy. It does Clip Launching like Ableton Live, track recording, mixing, etc. It is a DAW in a box and of course you can hook it up to your computer when you need VST support/extra features or a bigger screen. The MPC seems to be losing that Hip Hop vibe and is trying to cash in on DJ/EDM type producers (of course you can make whatever music you want with it).
I don't like the dark pads with the colors around the edges. IDK, it looks kinda cheaply built to me, especially considering the $2100 price tag.
I did just get a Pioneer Toraiz. The workflow is totally different than a classic MPC but really the features are pretty basic for the price (it does sound good though). I believe that eventually Pioneer will make the Toraiz fully featured. But I have to admit, I am looking the smaller MPC Live going HMMMMMMmmm. I know the MPC sequencer and sampling work flows and features will be released at a much more complete state than the Toraiz. I have until the end of the month to make up my mind if I want to return the Toraiz and go with the MPC Live...

Re: The absurdly early NAMM 2017 thread
The MPC Live is exactly what I've been describing in terms of what I want from a sampler. Price seems a bit high for something that doesn't look like it could survive a 4ft drop, but I could be wrong. Intrigued.

Re: The absurdly early NAMM 2017 thread
I am looking harder and harder at that MPC Live, especially because I am now on the pre-order list
My dude at Sweetwater knows me well enough, I am on the pre-order list in case my research tells me to return the Toraiz and get the MPC Live.
So far, my research is indicating that the MPC Live is more what I want. I am going to watch NAMM for Pioneer OS update/Roadmap announcements and of course watch a bunch of MPC Live videos.

I'll stick with my ipad, but it's an exciting move for once. I'm crossing my fingers really hard for some good iOS controllers. Also really really happy that the smaller model uses a rechargeable battery.
