Lopoline looks really good, but I'd have to spend more time on their site to see what style cab I would want.
I know of a local company 5 min from my house, and I know the CEO and I could get a deal on some metal nameplates, if you want.
Send me a PM if you want me to get some info.
I'm going to have to sit down with Aynna to start budgeting for a Mellowtone Amp! :thumb:

I'm thinking that I like the 1x10/1x12 open back cabs on lopoline. I really like the idea of the dovetail version for sturdiness, but that would raise the price a lot more.

So Eric, is this new "Parlor" amp an idea on the backburner while the Party Favor series is being finished and new pedals are also on the horizon? Or is the amp going to be the next big thing from Mellowtone?

Hopefully the next thing. After I have the party favors going strong I hope to finish the prototype amp.

Im still deciding on alot of design issues, but currently I think its going to be an all octal amp with abotu 12 watts and tube rectifier... sorta a throback to 40's/50's or early ampeg stuff

As long as it sounds good with the new WC and Hi-Five, it's looking pretty good. You ever figure anything out with getting another cabinet maker, or have you been focusing on the amp itself?

Sounds great.

I reckon a head version will be better than a combo.

With a combo you limit yourself to customers that want that specific size of amp. With a head people can mix and match to their needs, surely opening up your potential customer base.
The only reason I am not interested in either is because I am after a multi channel amp/head.

Or, you know, why not both?

Yeah, a head would be no problem if anyone was interested.

But regardign the combo... I want to do something different with the cabinet construction... what I made thus far is just tooooooooooo generic/fendery (although I love fender amps).

So I am building a new cab which is going to be much more 'mellowtone' When its done, its going to be sweet.

But I am not decided on speakers. I can cram in a 12" ceramic speaker probably, a 10" ceramic speaker would fit just fine, but Im thinking it would be fun/funky to have two 8" speakers :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:
two 8's have about the same surface area as one 12"

this is for a 12 watt amp.

Two of my favorite old timey amps had multiple 8s
The Gretsch Safari, 2x8 and the Gibson GA-45 4x8.
Fantastic sounding.

It would be nice to have a head version, but for sure it needs to have that awesome Mellowtone vibe. Pictures of progress? Or are you going to make us wait until the prototype is finished?

Two 8s sounds pretty funky, can't wait to see how this turns out.
