nice. but still, does it track fast enough, this demon's gate? find the root i mean.
I've never played a hog. i've only twss etc.
i'm guessing it's about the same as a pog2 & ravish, which i use a lot. there is a slight lag with those - i'd say it's not really noticeable for most of what I play. but if you do a flurry of notes it can feel like the effect is slightly behind you trying to catch up.

fuckin' great stuff.
i agree, i think the bulk of this is very likely what is going on.
if it was driving an internal synthesizer it wouldn't sound like this. in the video you can hear a couple of parts where the notes he's playing are slightly out of tune but it's not jumpy, just accentuated cos all these extra loud organ harmonics that stick out are also just as detuned.
also it's 2016, if that was a synthesizer it wouldn't sound like a 90s yamaha vector patch. waveshaping in a guitar pedal is obviously gonna be almost that far behind in terms of trying (and sort of failing) to cop authentic sounds, and trying but failing to replicate things is how we've ended up with some of the most beautiful sounding gear we have (80s/90s digital reverbs i'm looking at you).

I still think it would be simpler and more generic/re-usable to extract relevant audio descriptors from the input signal (there's been a lot of research on this recently, there's even a Max/MSP library) and use this data to drive some form of synthesis rather than processing the signal itself.

Wish this had a few knobs for like Lo and Hi EQ and then a fun "warble" knob or something.

I've finally watched the demo video and fuck me sideways. Thing is pretty damn sweet. Definitely going to have to cop one.

That's only because I bought the entire batch that will be available on 3/22. The rest of you can have one on 4/4.

sweetwater is shipping today. they're going out in the order they were purchased (which - yay - apparently includes me), but some are backordered due to the demand...

yeah, I'm just razzing you. it's always the obligatory reference piece for any mellotron flute demo. but i'm looking forward to seeing what else it can do too
