All of the in-game books have been collected into three ~230pg hardcover volumes. So if you read them all, that's almost 700 pages: a pretty hefty tome.

I was going to say something to that affect.
So, even your Skyrim character can be well read.
At least we don't have to quest to find interesting reads, though.
Fuck dungeon crawling.
Finding books on corpses is always great when you get a few multiple copies together and then go down to the book exchange and trade em for something decent.
That's a little bit like real life.
"I found all these Mills and Boon novels on dead ladies at the retirement home I work in, gimme some Easton Ellis."

I live for dungeon crawling.

When you got Dawnbreaker in your hand and there's, like, eight Draugr Lords in a swarm around you, and then things just start blowing up.

Reading that over, it sounds like a really fucked up porn movie.

ANYWAY

Thanks Kaeth, I saw those books, and there's an equivalent set for TESO that looks great.

I have the Greg Keyes novels, the Guide to Tamriel that came with the deluxe TESO set, etc.

Can't find the Deluxe Player's Guide to Skyrim for less than $75 USD these days... used!

Shoulda bought it when I saw it at Marden's, I guess.

Kindof an addict...

Ordered GOTM paperback, we'll see how it goes!

Started reading Robert Graves - The Greek Myths, and I love it... but I have too much else on the go, and can't imagine finishing it, knowing my own limitations.

One of the best series ive read but its not for the casual reader he is pretty brutal so if you dont like the first half of the first book atall then you should probably just sack it. If you are enjoying it or feeling curious then keep going it only gets better i promise, according to Wikipedia the whole series is about 3.25 million pages so plenyt to keep you occupied.

Also ANY Brandon Sanderson book is pure gold in terms of reading all of his books are amazing. Way of Kings and Mistborn being the two stand out series.

So far this year ive read

Jim butcher - Aeronaut's windlass
Sarah J. Maas - Throne of Glass
Brandon Sanderson - Alloy of Law
Brandon Sanderson - Shadows of Self

Which is a poor start to the year, i was hoping for more tbh
casecandy wrote:Honestly, the most epic fantasy for me is Phillip Pulman's His Dark Materials Trilogy. It's YA Lit but it's pretty high-brow YA Lit written by an Oxford professor and draws on ideas about comparative mythology, evolutionary theory, quantum mechanics, etc. First book is good but nothing too too crazy; second a third books completely blow the roof off of it. Ending just about ruined me, it's so bittersweet. Also it has armoured fucking polar bears ripping each other's jaws off and shit, doom as fuck LOL. The movie fucking sucked.

I definitely enjoyed HDM but to be fucking honest Erickson's Malazan series takes you all over everywhere. Gardens of the Moon wasn't a chore for me but I can understand why people feel that way. Seriously Tehol and Bugg is the best duo. Bridgeburners are so fucking great. Goddamnit. Kalam. Quick Ben. Got me going back.

Erickson got some serious influence from Glen Cook's Black Company series which I also highly recommend. I think I enjoyed Black Company more than Malazan but it's hard to say.

Black Company books ive read the first three and really enjoyed them them (got them in the ombinus edition). Ive yet to look into any others, too many to read on my shelf at the momemnt, plus Brandon Sandersons latest Reckoners novel just turned up !
