I'm a little sad that I don't feel comfortable replying to the OP. All I can say is that when I first started posting here I got shouted down for arguing that we do not live in "post-racial" America yet. My main point was that if there are still people alive who had to drink from separate water fountains, then we are not post racial yet. Don't remember the specifics or the people involved (other than dubkitty who went berzerk and then apologized via PM), but the evidence that we are somehow past racism was that one white guy got beat up by black kids, another complained that everyone in his college is too PC, etc. I don't see how that shit proved anything other than that we have a long way to go, but basically I was told to shut up with my opinions because this place is about FUZZ and not politics. I agree with that sentiment, but according to that logic then nobody should have brought it up in the first place.
