People, let's talk mods.

What're people running?
I downloaded a filmgrain mod to make it look like Fury Road last night, but I haven't had a play with it yet.
Was also looking at one of those 4K retexture dealys.

Anyone got any good mods (of any type) to recommend?

i can't get into this game at all, what's wrong with me?
it feels so clunky and weird to move around and aim and the dog is always in the way jesus christ.
i've never played a fallout game before as far as i remember so maybe i'm doing something wrong.
would probably be better if i had a nicer graphics card because the shadows and stuff are horrendous on the lowest setting.

I gotta say that after months of playing this game, it sucks. I'm sorry but they fucking failed with this shit. They said it took 5 years to develop right? Bullshit. Fucking liars. This shit is EXACTLY like the Fallout 3. If I'm not mistaken it even uses the same graphics engine. It's literally running around doing errands for people and random stupid shit. Killing the same shit over and over again. Fucking lame as hell. I'm a 42 right now and I want to throw my Xbone at a wall. I thought the game would get better, with better quest. NOPE. In fact, I can't find anymore quest that aren't "hey save these dumbasses for the millionth time".

FUCK YOU FALLOUT 4!!!

And that's why I poured almost 1000 hours into New Vegas but could barely get to 100 hours in FO3.

Yeah questing is a grind, I was also expecting some improvements in that area.
Bethesda need some new writers methinks. The game concepts are fucking amazing. That whole biz with the synths and not knowing who is human, who is a robot spy could have been explored in a much deeper manner.
I think they've sort of looked at this like, "Fallout is like a band that broke huge and now we've hyped the fuck out of their next record while totally snowballing a fanbase. How do we make a new thing that sells here...greatest hits, call it new material?"

I dunno if mods are available for other platforms, but there are some really good ones that open up the gameplay a lot. I'm looking forward to finishing this completist play through and learning all the systems, and then going total balls out survivalist, no quests in the next play through.
This game is all about crafting.
Which is addictive, but can also be cumbersome.
It's not totally unbalanced, though. Last night, I was in the middle of settlement building/managing when I got called out to kidnapping. That turned into a black ops raider kill fest, which then turned into an awesome haul of weapons and junk.

Jwar just make a decision not to do every quest (or any) and just play a character.

I think we aren't far away from Fallout online, really.
If they can do it for the elder scrolls....

ES:O was a joke and not developed by the same team that does the mainline games. Please don't wish that shit on fallout.

All we can do is hope Obsidian gets to make the follow up again and does a as good or a better job than last time. Even with their track record of releasing incomplete sequels...

I actually didn't play it, but I'll take your word on it.
You know it'll be a thing, though.

There have been rumours.
Still down for a game set outside of North America.

Obsidian is too busy making the expansions/a sequel to their own Pillars of Eternity, which was a fantastic game. :idk:

Good that they're busy at least. I'd love for another Obsidian Fallout game.

man... makes me sad so many of you are hatin'. i love it. sure i don't think it's THAT different from 3, but there are definitely aspects that are.
backwardsvoyager wrote:it feels so clunky and weird to move around and aim and the dog is always in the way jesus christ.
if you can't aim in this game (note the rhyme) it's your own fault. :p

the dog & other companions ARE a pain in the ass sometimes though.
but it can be funny / helpful too that they can't get killed and can carry shit for you.

maybe i'm just totally biased / entertained by being a sniper rifle junkie in this and hitman...

i DID have one side quest get totally fucked though, because i blew some shit up before hitting the quest that was supposed to be part of it.
