I think the biggest issue with Tenders is age and location (not of where the meat comes from) but where they are ordered.
Went to a nice Mexican place with the family last night, 2y/o wants chicken and fries (which they have) rest of the kids are now grown up enough to know that the place makes bangin tacos and such
Went to a great little place with some friends about a month ago
everyone gets nice plates of food
One person orders tenders and fries
Congratulations, you are eating on a 2 year old level!
you want tenders at a drive through or a sports thing go for it
you go to a restaurant that offers decent food and order tenders you got a problem

My brother in law does that. If he goes to a restaurant for the first time he always orders tenders and fries because "if they do this right that means they do other things right probably."
Every time I just make fun of him and get something way more delicious.

Good for you, he should be ridiculed.
I cooked at an Italian restaurant for years and someone once asked the owner why we didn't have a kids menu
and he said "Kids can get a slice, we aren't ever going to give your kid chicken tenders"
It seemed harsh but also spoke a deeper truth

I order chicken fingers and fries all the time when I'm out with people and have zero shame.
I dunno if it's an American thing or what but I'm having a huge disconnect with the fried chicken in this thread. What's so great about fried chicken? It's not exactly poutine or anything.

I don't think you guys understand that chicken can be good on chickens own. If one needs to slather whatever the fuck they are eating in sauces then they like the sauce more than the food.
