My weapon of choice is the pruning saw: It's used for cutting off dead tree branches.
It's like a large knife with serrated edges, you can slice someones throat open and then saw their limbs off while getting their blood on only one tool!

I wasn't quite sure how sharp those knives were but the sound effects in the intro really sold me.

I have a war club / walking stick from Papua New Guinea that one of my Anthro professors gave me as a graduation present. I think that would be my deterrent of choice.
The thing is about three and a half feet tall, and would pack quite a wallop. No photos of it, but maybe I'll take a pic and upload it tonight.
