Just got the Porter Cable drill press Lowes sells. Internet peeps seem to think it's a good value, and so far I agree. Still putting it together, about to put the arbor on the chuck, never done that before, pretty cool, the way that works.

I just put some paste wax on the column, figured it would be good to do before I put the drill on. Seems like every drill press I've seen irl has a ton of rust on all the exposed metal.

Guy at Lowes had to get someone to use a big forklift to get me a drill from the top shelf like 15 feet up. As it came down, something about the way my sister and me looked must have convinced this guy that we had no way of getting it home, because he kept asking about our car. Had a good laugh as my sister messed with him.
"Oh yeah, you're right, I didn't think of that. Put it back I guess."
"... Are you guys for real?" Look on his face like, I can't believe this shit.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No, really, it'll fit, we measured, and we've already moved something bigger than this today."

Earlier that day we went and got a kitchen table set from someone on craigslist. Good day.

I've got this Toyota Matrix, a 4 door hatchback car, but the seats fold down for a pretty good sized area to haul things. Recently moved literally everything I own in it across the country. I guess my point being squeezing every square inch of space out of the inside of this car is a point of pride for me.

Yeah, I've wanted a drill press for a while now. I can put holes in all kinds of shit now! And precisely! And with one hand!

Had to crack open the everclear I had saved to mix up some shellac (which I will still do, got that project saved for later, huzzah, looking forward to that), so I could clean the arbor contacts, so it doesn't slip and stuff. Drank some. Oh man. Chuck is on the drill now, though.

Been looking at that Porter cable for a long time too. I think they are a pretty good value too. Cheers man, good buy.

My delta table saw and dewalt radial arm saw have been freaking awesome (got both recently). Radial arm saw was a steal for 100 and is much more precise than the dewalt miter saw I have.

Going to get my router table setup tomorrow so I can build some doors.

I have gotten so much use out of this, and saved so much time.

Finallay have my framing chisel set together [just need to make two handles] 3" slick, 2 1/2", 2" 1 1/2" and a 1", also found a badass handle for my slick. Put a new handle on my axe and got one of those swanky round rubber mallets. Picts to come when batteries charge

So here's something I've been using a lot lately, and it works great for repetitive enclosure drilling. The rubber stopper is nice, no worries about marking up the top. They sell the clamp at Harbor Freight, and I got the 1" spacers, and nuts and washers at Ace Hardware (cost more than the clamp, though, those parts add up quick). But I bet block of wood, or even a spare 1590B, would work as well or better.
