"Seller does not offer combined shipping".
And then proceeds to put both items I bought in the same (padded) envelope.
Fuck you too, buddy.

Alright, I know this ain't an eBay thing exactly, but I am getting a call from a number that is supposedly "BillMeLater" twice a day for a week now. I don't answer it. The posts I've read about this number say that the person is from "eBay Credit" (which doesn't exist) or BillMeLater (which is called Paypal Credit now) or NewEgg (via billmelater). I've never used credit on ebay, billmelater, newegg, or paypal credit. I've done everything in straight paypal. Checked my credit to see if someone opened an account under my name...nope. Some posts I've read have said that paypal is giving the sellers number for deliquent accounts of a buyer meaning that it could have been anyone I have sold to in the past year. I don't know...anybody else experience this? On the other hand, I have heard it is a scam too. As a matter of fact, I only have 1 credit account and I pay it off each month just to keep my credit "alive" (I buy like socks or sodas once a month with it). Weird paypal problems lately too...like 7 hours for a payment to send even though they took it from my account.

Went to get a pedal today and won the auction, cause I saw the PayPal logo and assumed it would accept Bill Me Later like every other purchase I made. Go to check out and it doesn't offer it as an option, so I message the seller and say 'weirdly enough it's not letting me use BML, that's how I was going to pay, I've never been in a situation where PayPal was an option and BML was not, I'm sorry' Instead of being understanding or just accepting BML he sends a two paragraph message back about how I wasted everyone's time and he's going to report me. Ignore the fact that this guy has 1/10 of the feedback that I do.
Same exact shit happened to me on a hagstrom pat smear.

Ugh. There was a seller a while back with a lot of nice old stock 12AX7 tubes. I bought a couple Hammond labeled Philips Holland 12AX7s off him for a great deal. He had them tested in a Hickok tester but he never field tested them in a good quiet amp. One of them ended up being severely microphonic so I contacted him and sent it back. He then proceeded to block me and relist the bad tube! I asked him what was up with that and he said it was all too much work for him. If it's such a pain for him to test the tubes and process orders why is he even selling them?

Poor form on his part. That whole plausible deniability thing seems likely...but he gave you some rare insight into his character. "It was all too much work" ...to do things a better way...arguably
the right way the first time...and now he's successfully created extra work, while flagging himself as someone moving potentially dubious merchandise.
I, too have a Hickok tester 1 rung below the military ones...but as thorough as it is, any tubes I buy or sell are screened under real world load/usage. Both in hifi and instrument amps; fixed bias and cathode bias. AFAIK none of the old tube testers measure noise floor and microphonics...which are 2 of their more important and deterministic characteristics!

There is weird stuff out there. Just watch out for 888-393-7162. It is a valid paypal number, but they verified I have no credit with them...never had an account (and they have no record of me). Supposedly it is a collections call, but they have nothing to collect. Beware of the evil!

Nope, but I have wondered what they would do in that situation. I've actually expected them to make me pay for something shipped to me because postage was too low.

I have had that too, had some kicks come in and the guy used a flat rate box but bought the postage on e-bay
so the USPS made me pay the difference to get my package
USPS and E-bay need to sort some stuff out I think
