Ax just looks wrong to me if you're talking about the choppy thing (or, alternatively, a thing getting cancelled, etc.). Also because I was outvoted at work and now we use Ax instead of Axe.

The rest of it I can basically ignore if I pretend it's Prince song titles.

I once knew a girl who said "cadiver" instead of *cadaver* After I corrected her, she spent the next ten minutes apologizing for it. She did that vocal fry thing, too.

I'm not a grammar Nazi. Language should be mutable and useful but over time it should trend towards being more useful, and in my opinion more colorful. Using peek or peak in place of pique has the opposite effect. Using language as a measure of the general fitness of the culture, I hold pique misuse up as an anecdotal indicator that people be stoopid are uninformed.

She was drunk and going off on several tangents, but infallibly came back to apologizing for having said "cadiver". So it wasn't exactly 10 minutes of consecutive apologies. And she had PIQUED my friend's interest, so I didn't want to appear rude for his sake. Also, I've never been able to hear Dio's "Holy Diver" the same way since

When people pronounce the work "frustrating" as "fustrating" without the r.

It frustrates me.

I can't remember who, but someone here shapes their posts as poems, and I haven't figured out if I like it or hate it. I don't care how you spell things. Text (and language in general) is a flawed form of communication. If I can grasp the idea of what you're trying to tell me, I'm good.
