You don't have to use the dirty side of the BitQuest at all, you can just use it with your own dirt pedals and the clean patches and leave it like that. The dirty side is an adventurous digital fuzz that can do overdrive as well, it's got an unobtrusive digital noise gate on it, and the master volume controls it so you can have it be nice and quiet if you want.
I think you should experiment a bit with the dirty side for sure, the digital fuzz is cool sounding! *smile*
I may be cooking up a demo with the dirty side...

Sorry for the confusion there dudes! The BQ needs 75mA at 9VDC, 150mA at 18VDC. If your supply is a little lower you can still give it a try, worst case it'll hum and you'll know it's not happy. If it's quiet and works normally then you're all good!

I'm all for colorful BitQuests! Someone out there got the bright idea to ask Ryan for Skittles knobs during the preorder, and when I saw the result, I had them put on my BQ too. All those colors just seem appropriate for such a feature-packed pedal.
I still love my BitQuest as much as the day I got it. Such a brilliantly designed pedal!
