>ENTER CORRIDOR
YOU ARE IN A SECTION OF THE BUILDING THAT LOOKS RATHER RUN-DOWN. THE WALLS ARE NICOTINE-YELLOWED WOOD PANELING. YOU ARE STANDING ON SHAG CARPETING. THERE IS A BRANCH IN THE CORRIDOR TO THE EAST. THERE IS A SINGLE ROOM STRAIGHT AHEAD. A SIGN HANGS ON THE WALL ADJACENT THE DOOR TO THE ROOM.
>LOOK SIGN
YOU CAN ONLY MAKE OUT THE LETTERS "TB" ON THE SIGN AS A USER HAS PASTED A CRUDE AND FAIRLY DISTURBING PORNOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATION OVER MUCH OF IT.
>GO EAST
HEADING EAST, YOU ENCOUNTER A HEAVY AND ORNATE WOODEN DOOR. A PLAQUE ABOVE THE DOOR READS "THE DOOM ROOM". STRANGE MUFFLED DRONING SOUNDS SEEM TO ORIGINATE FROM BEYOND THE DOOR. YOU PICK UP A FAINT SMELL OF CANNABIS THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM. THE AIR CONDITIONER IS CURRENTLY RUNNING.

The Doom Room could really be renamed "Ridiculously large amounts of amplification section" It's not really genre specific. I think it's more about a certain attitude towards gear in there. As I am a devotee of that approach, it's my go to resource for weird ideas. Anywhere else on the interwebs if I say I'm building a fridge sized 4x12 with an 18 from the "Earthquake" movie theater Sensurround system in a folded horn config in the back of it, I'm going to be burnt at the stake and get all kinds of "you don't need that if the place has a pa kind of bs. ILF at large is mostly free of that but the DR especially the attitude is more FUCK YEAH, MAKE 4 OF EM!
When I come to ILF I check the board index/view active topics and once I'm out of interesting stuff there, I'll go check the DR for stuff that was posted earlier I might have missed. I love that there are multiple people there with multiple amp rigs, I think maybe four of us now are doing the triphonic thing? I get a huge kick out of that shit.

Well the DAM forum was moving slow, and the Talk Bass new layout makes me feel like I'm on a botched social media platform, so I had to hang out on TGP. Not gonna trash them but I just find it entertaining reading all of the posts over there.

I spent a bunch of time browsing the vintage synth explorer forums. Which, although interesting and awesome, never seems to go even the slightest bit ot so it's kind of dry. Incredible resource though!
